Mesa 3/4 open back cab with C90. Decent enough cab?

I have a line on one at a good price locally. Never had one. Not sure how it will play with my Eggy cabs with Scum M75's.

I really like those cabs but don't know the speaker as the one I had was reloaded with vintage 30s. It's a good cab though so you can always reload it and sell the c90s to recover funds if it's a good enough deal.

I picked it up on my way home today. It's a little beat up and could use a wipe down on the tolex. Smokey too, which I hate.

For $140 though, I can spring for some dryer sheets and close it up in a garbage bag for a few days.

Firing it up tonight for an A/B session with the Scumback loaded Egnater's.

Great cabs. I love the open top option. Check the bottom to make sure those are C-90's in there. Some have EVM's, some have these shitty 50 watt eminence speakers with no label on the back... Very rugged cabs. to my ears they sound better than those oversized recto cabs.

Thanks for the heads up. It is a C90. Even with the issues, I think its worth $140.

Some lemon Pledge and the smokey stench is gone! Must not have been as bad as I originally thought.

The cab sounds great. More full due to the partial open back but also not nearly as tight. I will keep it around for a while. Overall, I think it's a good deal at $140.

I have a pair of 2X12's. My favorite cab of choice of a cab to leave my house with in terms of balance between portability and sound.

I have a 3/4 QB widebody ext 1x12 with the C90...it is a great cab. I paid $249 a few years ago at local GC. I don't know if it was the porting/open back but it sounds really bigger that it is. I use it with a DC-5 widebody combo that also has a C90 so I run it essentially as a vertical 2x12 setting and it sound great and like I'm pushing a 4x12 but I'm not.

Is this the same type of cab you bought from me? If so, those are cool. I wish they were a little wider in stance, but it sounded killer with every amp I've had.

EDIT: Nevermind, I see this is a 1x12...I was thinking of those 4x12 partly-open backed cabs with the "mesh" grill.

That looks like the one I have. Mine has a good bit of road wear on it though. It's a big cab for only being a 1X12.
