So is that Mesa Recto on one side, Marshall on the other. I definitely hear the Mesa in there.

And exactly how much grit is too much?
If full on Death vox are a nonstarter would Hatebreed style HardCore vox work for you? Or Machine Head style? Dio power vox still too gritty? Priest/Maiden style? QueensRyche?
For me it's just another texture. It's like guitar gain. I expect a certain amount of gain in a metal song during an aggressive part.

Thanks a lot!UberKrankenschtein":1qq4edvh said:The guitars sound good man, I've watched plenty of your videos on YouTube, you're one of the few I will instantly watch if you have a vid on an amp aim looking at. You Ola & Fluff.

Thanks for the vids! It's not too common to find people putting up wide with super heavy stuff similar to what I like, so it's really hard to tell if I'm going to like an amp or not if they play some 80's metal stuff & I like Death Metalish tones
I have an Original Uberschall(thanks to Reza). According to Bogner only about 100 ever made, these were made prior to the Rev2/Green. I also have a Rev Blue Uberschall.
The Differences are faster taper pots, more hand wiring, transformers and caps in different areas, and a different voicing for the gain. The original absolutely crushes my rev blue.

Ok, cool!
I just found your vid of the Uber. It's a pretty cool amp. I still want one. But i'm not sure if i need it
Try the Dustcab edge for mic placement, or: direct in the middle and move an inch to the left. Depends a bit on the speaker.
I'm comparing it to my clip of my modded KK at the moment.
No need for an Uber? We will see...maybe.
Btw your Vox DA-15 clip was funny. In a positive way.
Cheers,
Simon

I'm obviously biased, but I've never been a Marshall fan, I thought I found the one unicorn Marshall in the jvm410h, but it just can't keep up with my Uberschall, Krankenstein, 5150, or even the Carvin V3 once it's cranked up. At bedroom volumes the jvm sounds amazing.
To me when going for really high gain stuff Marshalls just turn into mud. Granted I haven't played them all.
For this recording of the Uberschall I believe I did try to get the mic right at the cone/dust cap seam.
After getting an Uberschall, there will never be life without an Uberschall for me, no other amp comes close to its sound in person, especially from the Uberkab. You thought you heard serious bottom end before, if you haven't cranked an Uberschall you may be in for a surprise.
I thought the vox video came out pretty good, and to me showed that you can get decent recording sounds from just about any amp. With the right mix and post EQ that little amp could sound insane.
