Hey guys, here you can check out my new video using the reactive-active attenuator from the Two Notes Torpedo Reload and the mic and cab simulation from the Torpedo VB101.

To my taste, the feeling and response of the reactive-active attenuator from the Torpedo Reload is a little more advanced and somehow more "true and right" compared to the resistive attenautor from the Torpedo VB101, which is nevertheless a fantastic peace of gear I don´t want to miss. However, in combination with the Torpedo Reload it´s just the perfect match for me.

you put him in control
watch him become a god
watch peoples heads a-roll

Man that sounded great dude! What IR's are you using for this?

Thank you. I used the Mesa Rectifier 4x12 cab with V30 speaker from Two Notes with, if I remember correctly, a blend of SM57 and M160 mics ;)

Thanks. I have never managed to get WoS III to sound that great for me. Are you just using the cab + mics? Or are you using the power amp sims and other two notes settings/tweaks too? Really does sound really good.

The wife wants to know what I want for Christmas, if I can only get one for home recording, which one would you start with? I have a ton of amps and mics, but I don't have a pre that is worth a damn, so the Torpedo seems like the perfect fit.

Thanks a lot ;) I only used and still use the cab and mic simulations from Two Notes (and of course the loads). There are no special tweaks in the WOS plug-in that I apply. To be honest, I never managed to get the power amp simulation to sound good. On the other hand, I don´t need it due to my amp heads and my Mesa 2:Fifty power amp. Going for the real deal as far as possible ;) That being said, I only read and heard very positive comments about the power amp simulation of Two Notes, so chances are big that one simply has to learn over a longer period of time, how to deal with the settings.

If you can go without reamping, I strongly recommend the Torpedo Studio, which comes with switchable impedance and switchable resistive OR reactive-active load. Also the Torpedo Live is interesting, which comes with a reactive-active load, but here you can only simulate 1 cab together with 1 mic at the same time, while the Torpedo Studio is stereo able.

Sounds really great!! I'll have to try a Studio sometime but right now I am putting my time into the BluBOX. I am finally in a position to start using it for home recording of my tube amps. Really looking forward to it! http://www.bluguitar.com/english/blubox.html
Interested to see what you come up with. I liked very few of the tones in the official vid of both the cab pedal or the BluGuitar.

Unfortunately I´m not yet a "Studio" owner. However, the Reload in combination with the VB101 is a great all-in-one solution for me. Though, looking forward to buy a Studio in the future ;-)
