Well... here it is... the legend, the myth, the magic... Mesa Boogie Mark IIC++ HRG 100/60W. This fine example of the species was originally built in September 1983 as indicated on the chassis. This amp started out in 1983 as a MKIIC 100/60W head and was upgraded in 2014 to MKIIC++ specs with the "++" mod performed by Mike Bendinelli himself at the Mesa factory in Petaluma, CA. Mike B. is no longer currently modifying amps, so this maybe your last chance at buying a MKIIC++ amp. While at the Mesa factory for service in 2014, all electrolytic and power filter caps were replaced, all pots/jacks cleaned, and solder joints checked. Mike B's initials are inside the amp on the preamp board, showing he modified it to "++" specs, as well as on the back panel off the amp near the power cord. This is the same identical MKIIC+ HRG amp that John Petrucci uses, and upon which the JP2C Signature amp is based on. It also has the same "++" mod that James Hetfield has on his famous MKIIC++ "Crunchberries" amp.

This particular amp is in museum, collectors, excellent ++ conditon. It is super clean for a 37 year old amp. You will not find a cleaner collector's example of this amp. The cab and tolex almost look new. No weird smoke or odd smells either. No mold or mildew in the cab. Both transformers are original and very clean. It doesn't really get much more rarified than this MKIIC++ HRG. The amp sports a brand new set of Mesa Yellow Code 6L6GC STR-440 powers tubes drawing 21.2-22.7-21.3-21.2 milliamps respectively, for a well matched set, as verified on my MaxiMatcher 2 tube tester. Also the amp has 5 NOS Chinese 12AX7C5/6N4 preamp tubes, which are new, tested, and identical to the preamp tubes Mesa used back in the 1980s. A custom Tuki amp cover is also included.

The amp sounds phenomenal and has a metric ton of gain. It has zero issues, and operates flawlessly. The only reason I'm selling is that I have 6 of these... and only use 2-3 most often. If you watch the used market like I do, very, very few of these have come up for sale in the past 1-2 years. Very few. So if you've been wanting one, now is your chance and don't sleep on it. This same amp has been owned/played by a few forum members here, so they may chime in to attest to it's greatness.

HRG: H = 100W R = Reverb G = Graphic Equalizer

Oh man, if I haven't just bought two other expensive amps within the last month, this amp would've be mine right now!
Specially because I already own a serial # 118XX, HRG with the C+ upgrade, 100 PT, but Simul-Class. This one would make a perfect pair with the one I already have!
Good luck with the sale!

Congrats on the sale. I was wondering if this was one of my old amps. My all time favorite was a 100 output transformer HRG. It crushed and beat every 2C++ amp I had with a 105 transformer. ?

pic (from 2015) for proof that I had too many. ??. I’m more mad that I didn’t hold onto them until this year. ?

Yep. It is that same HRG amp. And as you say… it’s a monster. The new owner will be pleased.

What is the white rackmount fx Dave, I know one is the DL8000R but what is the other one. BTW, this is simply the most brutal gear pic lol

Ho Lee Sheet!!! Lol... That's like dying and going to tone heaven!!! or brootz hell!!! Lol
I agree with you, my favorite MK2 is a 2C that Mike upgraded it to C+, and it's an HRG, Simul-Class with 100 PT. It's the Mesa that's going to stay with me until my last day.
