New poster here! Been lurking a while though. Did a video on my Mark IIC++ Coliseum KDRG trying to capture the black album tone. I think it turned out pretty good.

You need a sennheiser 421 mixed with the 57. I think that's what they used?? Anyways, nice tone, you got pretty damn close.

Thanks man! ? Yeah, they did. And probably a bunch of room mics, eqs and a lot stuff. I just thought it was kinda cool getting somewhat close to the tone, using simple recording equipment in my basement.

Yes. A 421 is a must to blend. Make sure you check phase.

I can post the Battery clip, but the guitars turned out very dark on that one. But hey, it was a first try

Thanks man! I have never tried the purple stripe. But I’ve had the red, blue and currently own an early No stripe + modded with 105 PT and a No stripe Coliseum. They are both awesome! But there is something special with 2C+/2C++ ??
