Sounds very good. I have never gotten my mark IVA to sound that heavy, but I don't have a 7 string guitar either. I do have a Maxon OD-808 that I like to boost R2 with, never really liked it boosting the Lead channel, but your clip sounds good so you must be doing something right. :)

cool, what are your settings like? Since I've never used a boost (might look into a maxon808), I've always had the lead channel's drive and gain both pulled and around 7.5 - 8.

I find that the amp sounds and feels better with the Drive pushed in when using a boost, especially at high volume levels. Without a boost, pulling the lead Drive back out is almost the same. Pulling the lead drive almost acts as an od pedal does, but it's more natural and juicy.

I had the Treble and Mids all right around 6.5 with the Bass at 3.5 and the gain at 5 on the R3 channel (not pulled). The graphic EQ was real similar to a Petrucci setting but with more 750 than he has. Love the mids on the Mark IV. Just cuts like a knife!

My Mk5 definitely gives my 2010 triple rec a run for its money.

Down boy!!!

It's cool to see some Mark series love around here. I have had my MKIV since 2005 (I was running a Studio Pre rack for 15 years prior to that)
I've never used an OD in front of the lead channel myself but my playing isn't as brutal as yours.

Nice clip, very well done.

Scott

Sounded Awesome but so do all of your clip. You could plug into a flip flop and make it sound cool. Im almost bored of all these great clips and am secretly hoping for one that sucks

Love it and as Ive said in the past, I love all your clips and vids!

Ive been using a MKIV since 1992 and I'll never sell that amp ;)

As an old dog who has been around for a long time, What really amazes me is how things change lol. What I mean is that when I first came onto the boards years ago, I told many of the younger guys about the MKIV and how heavy they could get and I was met with laughter. The recto was in its heyday and whenever I mentioned the MKIV I was told how bad the MKIV sucked ass. Now fast forward to present day and now all I hear is how great those amps are and how heavy they can get hahahhaa!!

I just find it funny :D
