Oh by the way , do you still have that Les Paul Custom I sold you a while back ? I miss it :(
 
Are people actually claiming a MKIV can't do metal?! :lol:

What's funny is that I bet many of the "metal" idols the cores worship *could* play "metal" through through a plexi/jmp! I cringe to think what people that think a MKIV/5150/DSL etc. can't do metal would sound like on a setup like that :lol:

Though it would be awesome to have one of them win some sort of contest. Meet Mustaine or something. Mustaine plugs into a modded plexi and hands core kid-winner guitar. "uh... you can't play metal on these things, man. :cry: " Mustaine: "Can't play metal?! Yeah RIIIIGHT!" [Riffs out like the born again crackhead he is] :lol:

Thanks. I really just threw it together because i felt like doing something heavy. I want to eventually do the whole song. I feel this is one Kirk solo that rips. He was young and had some fire back then.

I was working on some other clips and got frustrated so i found this and threw it together.
 
Totally dig that tone man! I also like that solo alot. Post the full clip when you get it done. Everytime I see a Mark IV cant do metal thread at HC I just laugh. Some people have no clue what the hell what tone is.
 
danyeo, your clip needs that mid slider back up a little to be metal :D

I never push it all the way down but i felt like scooping it this time. I usually put it to where it just takes out the honk.
 
everyone knows the Mark IV sucks ass, everyone should pack them all up and ship them to me for proper disposal.
 
Some of those hc guys are morons to think a mark iv can't do metal, but then again a few of those same people think the uber doesn't have enough gain.

same here, usually (with my mark III) tho i've actually been digging the W shape on the graphic A LOT here lately
 
Dude, you know why I stayed out of this thread! Anyone who thinks that the MKIV can't do metal or thinks that the MKIV doesn't have a lot of gain is retarded. :rawk:
 
Mark IV rules. And its great for metal, and if you disagree then you're beyond a tard.

I agree about Kirk. I can't stand his playing these last 12 years but his lead work early in their career was fun and much more interesting.


BTW, would you mind sharing that backing? I cannot find a good one anywhere and want to throw the CLX down on top of that one. Let me know!

that's one of my fav metallica tunes...i could throw down the riffs for 1 rhtyhm track or something on my mark III
