Any you guys own a 2:100 ? Long story short I've had the Mesa 2:90 poweramp for a while now using it with my Axefx. Great sounding poweramp in my opinion. I was curious to try a 2:100 and see what the difference if any in tone is. So I recently got a 2:100 which also sounds great. So far I find the 2:100 to have a little less lowend and low midrange. The 2:100 is just a little more focused in the mids, also it sounds a little more aggressive maybe a touch brighter, a little tighter in the lowend. The differences are not huge though Im liking what Im hearing so far. But I find that the presence controls on the 2:100 does nothing when modern mode is engaged. Is this normal ?

I think that's right for modern mode. In the Recto in red modern, there's not a true presence control, just a high cut, which might be located in the preamp rather than power amp.

Thanks, do you own a 2:100?

In modern mode that is correct. I owned a 2:100 for years. Very tight and aggressive as it was based on the power section of a Rectifier. I actually used it with a Triaxis and then an AxeFx for a long time. For that setup I preferred that over the 2:90. Hope that helps.
