Have you guys seen that Mesa has drop the Transatlantic and Royal Atlantic amps and cabs. All they have now is Mark Series, Recto's, Express, and Lonestar series. The TA is still listed on their website but Mesa has confirmed they are dropping it. Seems like an indication of the market which is getting more and more limited. But a good sign is the Mark V 25 seems to be a big hit. And the Lonestar and Express seem to still be around because they come in small packages with low wattage options.

I wonder if the will just keep their amps to the basics for what Mesa is know for, Recto's and Mark. And wait the market out and see where it goes?

There's still plenty to choose from though... I'm tempted to purchase a Mark V 25 watt and an EQ pedal.

But they certainly have narrowed it down a bit. The mini Mark seems to be a big hit.

I bought a Mini Mark and absolutely love it
Great to hear! A common response regarding the Mark V/25... Since getting my Guytron 20, I've simply fallen in love with low watt cathode bias amplifiers. My dilemma this week is finding a trio of pickups for my LP Custom. I'm thinking S-D Seth Lover or maybe Whole Lotta Humbucker? As soon as I get that squared away, I'll focus my attention on the V/25.

I wonder if they are going to make a 50 watts mini mark. I'm not a fan el84

Mesa is always flipping around their lineups. The Mark, Recto, and Lonestar all fill different sonic voids. The Express series has been an alternative that sells. The rest seems to rotate every 3-5 years...Stiletto, Electra Dyne, Transatlantic, Royal Atlantic, etc. Something new will take their place before you know it.

Mesa has never been known to keep things around for too long. If it becomes iconic to the brand (Mark, Recto, etc), it stays. Otherwise, they're always trying new stuff. Nothing is sacred!

Are you sure they discontinued the Royal Atlantic as well? They did a Q&A on Premier Guitar just a couple of nights ago and while they were asked if the TA/RA lines were cancelled, they only confirmed that the TA was. I loved the RA. It was great. Amazing clean and GREAT lead channel that wasn't a Mark or a Recto.

Money decides everything. They can make a great amp, but it hurts the bottom line if people aren't buying it.

Maybe their about to release a whole new animal?
They still like the idea of a "Brit" tone amp.

I "just" picked up a royal atlantic, currently honeymooning. Great amp. i did notice sweetwater didn't have it listed on their site anymore (head).

I had a TA-15. I really liked the Top Boost channel a lot. It was snotty and aggressive. But I sold it so I could buy a Mark V LOL. I wish they would junk that Edge Mode in the V and put that top boost channel in there.

I really like my Electra Dyne!

I like it a lot as well but I can see why it didn't sell that much. It's stupid LOUD for one thing and goes from off to shaking the walls by just breathing on the master volume. Shared EQ controls, and not that much preamp gain. But I love how the amp sounds boosted with a good pedal like the BB Preamp. IMHO it hangs with much more expensive amps out there as long as you boost it and are careful with the master. I can deal with the shared EQ because it hardly ever needs tweaking.

I for one would take the Dyne over an amp like the 5153 mini everyday but I can see why modern metalers plug into the 5153 and get all moist with it's abundance of gain on tap.

I would bet your ears would disregard that statement. In my opinion, the voicing of the amp is more important than the power tube base. I have a Friedman modded amp that runs two EL84 tubes. Would never guess it was not EL34 if you heard it.

I've been checking the site often. Hoping something new is about to drop. Would be nice to see an updated Electra Dyne (doubtful) or a new high-gainer with a new flavor and some midi integration (could happen).

I've been having a great time playing through my Axis rack. I tried a Mesa 20/20 Dyna-Watt amp, but it just didn't deliver the goods like a 50 or 100 watt power section.

An updated Electra-Dyne would be interesting... Maybe add MIDI w/ programmable EQ sliders?

I think that is possible .a new modern higain based on el34 , smaller chassis ,cab clone , reverb, switchable power from 50 watts to 1, contour eqs ,solo control
