Mesa dual rec, revision identification help!

I've played most of the early revisions and to me the rev G' are the best revision. The clean is a perfect rock clean and takes pedals well and there's no volume issues between the channels. No noise issues on the clean either as opposed to the earliest versions. The parallel loop is decent and I find the mids to be tighter than the 3 channel versions

Depends on the Rev G
Yeah? I've only played a few G's actually and kept a blackface small logo head with the hard wired power cord. Its my favorite high gain head. The tone is close to perfect on these things. A friend of mine who's in a high profile metal band has asked more than once to buy or trade gear for this head. I still keep an eye out for Rev G's around here and on the bay. I'm not a rectifier expert but to me, I'll take a 2 channel G over just about any other version

Hey man where you been ? ......Rev G's sound good , but damn the Rev F triple I had is still the best sounding Recto I've had to my ears. I like rev G also and sometimes you just get a winner, rectos vary from amp to amp as we both know ;)

I've had a ton of early and late rectos and my rev C has been the best one of them all.

Hey man! Yeah, youre Rev F sounded great. Very organic and clear. Never been into the triples but like you said, they vary from amp to amp and yours was killer.
You still got that thing?

For those who care. I pulled the chassis and found 11/95 written on the bottom of the chassis.

I'm assuming that's when it was built.

Well I told myself I wasn't going to use it at a rehearsal... Damn it.. I knew this would happen. It's staying ! That orange channel is just to dang tasty to let go. I've played other rectifiers and none have touched that thing. Now... to figure out how to tell the the old lady I've got another guitar amp... lol.

Thought you were selling it?

I.. am. damn it. I'm going to sell it. I want to keep it but as much as I hate to admit it.. I need the 900 more than another amp at the moment.

I'll buy another one and if anything, its helped me realize the tone that works best for me. That in and of itself is freaking priceless.

I'm running a Diamond Heretic; Its a great amplifier but isn't fitting with the current project I'm in. The Mesa really meshed with the Uberschall and bass rig the other guys are running.

Really want to try a diamond amp especially that one but I'd pick a 2 channel over that any day especially if its sitting well in the mix just my opinion lol

It's funny I always thought I go out and grab what I thought was the best tone for the dollar. I'm now getting to a point where its more logical to get the best amp for the project I'm in rather than try and force 3 other guys to change their equipment. That Diamond is hands down one of the coolest amps I've ever played and the fact that their resell value is so low kind of amazes me. That said, the Diamond cuts through the mix so much that it swamps everything. The Mesa fits our mix better and doesn't necessarily swamp anyone else's spot in the mix. So, I'll probably try and sell both and just grab a mesa when its all said and done.

Where are you located Brent?

I'm located in north eastern ohio I have been to north Texas before in January its freaking cold there in the winter
