The OD clip def sounds better to my ear. Were your settings the same?

They were close but not the same. I'll make another video one day soon and I'll use the same settings and compare with and without boost. Those older clips are the best I can offer for a comparison as of now.

I liked the no boost clip best. They were both good really. Up loud on the stereo, the non boosted clip sounded a bit wider. Doing the eyes closed and listen thing, it seemed a touch more open. That said, I am guessing that with another guitar player and bassist Ina band setting the boost may cut better unless you and bass player have your frequency bands far enough apart.

Either way, it sounds great.

Thanks! Which non boosted clip are you referring to? There is one set Spongy and the other set to Bold.

The only amp causing me issues is my modified Dual Rectifier. When Running the Rectifier for anything from light to high gain, I like thick mids when I switch to playing a solo. I started using the OD-80 but doesn't seem to have enough mids to be heard when the Dual Rec is cranked.

Any other pedals with more mids to allow leads to jump out?

EQ in the loop will give you the best result. You can tailor the EQ and volume and it will sculpt like a mutha because it's post gain.

Good point. When running my amps low I like hitting with a TS pedals for leads, and with most of my amps, I prefer the amp's boost.

Problem with the EQ is I used it in the loop to raise volume when using single coils, so I run the EQ flat. I would have to get another EQ but would prefer simplicity.

Could always get a programmable EQ that has selectable presets...or a stereo EQ that would let you run one into the other. Just put which ever one you boost the most with last. If the EQ is to compensate for volume loss from SC's vs a humbucker guitar aren't you having to adjust the controls on the amp for its gain and EQ anyway?
