This is listed as a Mesa vertical 212 w/V30’s.

Look legit? He wants $900 for the head and cab… but I have no need for the amp.

What’s the cab worth? I’m thinking offering $750 for both. The heads are sitting on Reverb for $525 +/- so I’d probably sell it for $475 shipped

I have never seen a Mesa cab with that look so I would assume it must be a custom ordered one.

If you could sell the head for $475 then the cab would run you $275 to $425 depending upon your final purchase price.

Either way, it sounds like a pretty good to great deal for you.

Ask him for a picture of the output plate on the back of the cab to make sure someone didn't just stick a "Boogie" plate on the front of the cab.

I can see why you want it, good luck.

Looks like a hard wood flame maple cab. Never seen a whole cab in this option, simply because whole pieces of wood that large in flame color is hard to find and probably quite expensive.
Ask for pics of the backplate and serial number to confirm. The cab for 275-425 is a very good deal I guess.

The upright 2x12 Mesa cabinets generally go for more than the side by side. If it’s a recto cabinet just tolex you’re looking 550-750. If it is a custom Mesa cabinet with that flame wood it could run a extra 1K.

Get both sell the head. That way your only in it for 400.00. ?

That cab doesn’t look like a genuine Mesa cab to me.

I would only buy it for a Deal/Steal , depending on the speakers.

I’d have no use for that head.

i have seen a few mesa hardwood 4x12's in my time both in the wild and on the net. they exist. its probably double the cost new of a black tolex model and 4x12's tend to get dinged and nicked a lot unless they are in road cases, so they're probably not too popular.
I'd have him measure the thickness of the wood, all the dimensions, see the back plate and you can compare them to the various stock mesa cabs, and go from there. I'm assuming no serial number like on the really old metal grills?

Good luck with that. I can’t get sellers to give me weight on $3k+ guitars
really? lol i'm not shocked. i got out of gear wheeling and dealing in the mid 2010's, so i guess i'm out of the loop, but i mean how bad do they want it sold? I remember dealing with some lazy sellers on something you really want. its frustrating.

Agreed but not as frustrating as paying retail!

It seems no one remembers Santana using similar cabs.

Would need more pic’s of the cab at different angles but agree about the Badge. It would be a “Mesa“ badge, not Boogie by itself. But an owner may have made that change themselves after the fact.

The cab looks legit to me. Looks similar to other Mesa hardwood cabs. Looking closely I see that the blocking behind the badge is the right width for the large Mesa Eng badge normally on those. It also has the Mesa caster hardware. Solid deal there.

Looks legit. I've seen the flamed with cane cloth mesa cabs, and combos like that a few times over the years. They are rare,
but yes they do exist.
