Someone asked me to make a VH Unchained clip with the Mesa Lonestar combo...they thought they heard that type of tone in the gain...it kind of does have a bit of that.
No EQ or effects added after...boosting with an MXR 10 band EQ pedal and using a G-Sharp in the loop for delay and a bit of reverb.

Sounds great Adam... :D
I like that amp.
Thanks Vlad!
Still figuring out what this amp can really sound like...with the EQ effecting the preamp gain/tone structure so much this amp has a lot of voicings in it.
It's a real tweaker. ;)

Yeah that's how my QR is. I thought "It's a Marshall.. how hard can it be?" Well it's kinda hard. :D

Really, the EQ on the Splawn adjusts the the frequencies feeding the preamp stages?
It's cool but damn...I sort of wish Mesa put their 5 band eq on the Lonestar for fine after tweaking....tweak...tweak...tweak. :D

I like it! Sounds cool.
Yeah, those amps are tweakers but after you figured out how the controls interact, it becomes a lot easier.

That was just the tone I've had dialed in for the last few days...a really thick crunch.
Solos are soooo smmmmooth....loves the neck pickup.

I thought it sounded great!
Thanks!
For miking this combo up I'm not used to the C90 (where the sweet spot is) moving a 57 around you get a lot of very different voicings...with a greenback I can find 'the spot' pretty quick.

Cool stuff! Those Lone Star amps are very cool!
It's a learning curve for sure...I keep getting better tones as I work with it.
I read from other people that love it 'don't give up on it' it's a tweaker amp. ;)

Not sure exactly, but it seems like you really have to use your ears with that amp. The current setting 'look' strange to say the least. The treble control was described to me as a sweep of sorts.

The treble control seems to add the high end of the distortion in the preamp...if you're not careful the gain can get too shrill. It's a smooth amp that can be dialed in really cutting too. It's a really cool amp to tweak, you have a lot of control of things...yet not. :D

Sounds like it's set up alot like the QR is. I have the treble at 0 and the presence at 3:00. It's super thick and cuts like a mofo.

Close enough for me :)

Ya the Mesa family just gets bigger, people can have affairs with the $$$$$$$$ boutique stuff, sift through a ton of plexis to find a non molested one........they always wind up with the father of gain stages :D

Sounds great Adam :)

Mesa is seriously making good stuff right now, I wanted the Express combo too...it's a company that over the years refines what it does and keeps improving.

I could see myself becoming a Mesa fanboy one day...don't bump that old thread BTW you bastard! :D

I am done searching, I am very lucky to be able to afford my JVM and MK IV and have way more options than talent right now

BTW played with the guys I jam with today and one guy had a $$$$$$ PRS he borrowed and your 565 smoked it tone wise per everyone there  HAve not even tweaked the neck yet.

That's cool Scott...the action must seem a bit high to you (HOM member) I remember SteveVHT saying he had his guitar plecked and his action was minuscule...I would buzz like crazy all over that. :D The way I play I would have the strings clanking all over the fretboard, really heavy picking hand...that's why I like less gain...just force it out. ;)
I'm old school of slop, hit it hard...windmills dammit!
