Give us the straight talk, what Amp do you like and why. Include your style of playing.

Out of those four brands, I would play a Bogner Fish preamp through a Marshall 9200 power amp, and a Bogner 4x12 with something besides V30's.

I've played through soo much stuff, Bogners, Diezels, ENgl, etc etc. For me, this is it. Everyone has their own taste and you gotta decide for yourself.

I lean more to the Marshall side, but I love almost every Boogie I've ever played.

Diezel Herbert. It has the most usable gain of any amp I've heard. Very modern high gain tone with tight lows. I play what most people would consider prog. metal.

Me too.  I love the Mark Series Mesas though, and really like the Dual Rectifiers. I've only played XTC's so I don't know about the rest of Bogners, but I like them too.

A friend had a VH-4S and a Herbert, and the tone wasn't my thing at all. So I guess of the 4, I only really have a least favorite.

Gotta be a Marshall for me, Nothing sceams and roars like a Marshall in my opinion. Boogies never jived with my rhythm playing, a properly tuned 2c+ is nice for leads but just not my thang. Uberschalls and XTC's are gorgeous to but Modded Marshalls are the king. To each his own though!

I am a Cameron guy at heart, Marks work is the best hands down....

Mesa and Marshall, own both and could not be happier.

But would love to own a Herbert just because of it's awesomeness :D

after way too many years and way too much money, I end up coming back to a marshall

My choice is the Bogner XTC with the matching 4x12 cab. Cleans are stellar, can get a great mid-pushed tone, and can do the high gain super compressed thing too.

Have to admit, never been to Diezel town, but I've owned enough mesas and marshalls to fill a music store, and I still like them... but I love the Bogner. It's the most I've spent on an amp, and I wish I had done it years ago.

Marshalls, hands down. Have owned a bunch of others, keep coming back home to them   No. 2 would be Mesa's. Play progressive heavy stuff, always been more concerned with my rythym tone than my lead tone. I will say, I have not yet owned a Bogner, or a Diezel, so it could change. I'm done getting rid of Marshalls, but I may add some others later. Somthing in the mids, nice detail, lows stay tight, I seem to hear more of my hands with them. ;)

I've always been a marshall or modded marshall type of guy. I guess I'll have to call them my fave from the list.

I owned a 50 watt Einstein (and played a 100 watter for a while) and really liked it. I've very curious about the rest of the line. I'm sure I'll own another Diezel.

Owned a Mesa power amp and really wasn't a fan. Can't stand the rectos I've played, but really like the mark series. I'm probably I'll own a III or IV one day.

I liked the Shiva. The uberscahll does what it does well, but not my thing. I liked all the clips I've ever heard from the xtc, but I owned one and hated it. I mean HATED it. I'll probably never own another Bogner.

Bogner. Owned many Marshalls, liked some, hated others. Sold them all. Owned Diezel Herbert, liked it, but could not get any power tube into the tone. When cranked, it got too tight. Killer clean channel, but I only play clean 10% of the time. Sold that. Love my XTC. Plenty of gain. I only run it at half power, and can get plenty of power tube into the sound. Can be dialed in really dark, or really bright. I have my blue channel dialed in 'dead on' hot rod marshall with the gain at about 2:45. The red channel is nice, middy, and smooth. A dream to play leads on. Just love the power options, 100 watts, down to 30 watts. Excursion settings, brightness settings, can make it sound so different. Of course I ripped the V30's out of the Bog 4X12 and put in Greenbacks, which sound so much better.

My current favorite is the Diezel Herbert. I love it and not just for high gain. Channel 2 (both + and -) absolutely kills. Cleans are stunning. More gain than I'll ever use or need. Silky smooth lead tones. I mostly play metal, but not the tuned to B, cookie monster vocals stuff. Think a mix between the modern metal and 80s Iron Maidenish stuff. Harmony, melody, and a singer who can carry a tune.

That being said, I love my Mesa Mark III. It can get me just about any tone I want. I've played in Dead bands, Alt Rock bands, Prog rock bands, cover bands, you name it. The Mark III has carried me through all that with flying colors and I still use it at times instead of the Herbert.

And last but not least, just plugging my Les Paul into my old Fender Super sounds heavenly. I've gigged that amp with just TS9 and my Les Paul and been very happy. It's a one trick pony, but it's a damn good trick.

I wouldn't want to part with any of these. I've had Peaveys (I think every bandit every made), Mesa Nomads, carvin (X60, SX200) and a few others I'm probably forgetting. None of them were worth keeping to me. The 3 I have now I can't imagine parting with. Though the Herbert is my current favorite, it's nice to have options to fit my moods.

AxeFx because I can get great Mesa and Marshall out of it...

Mesa or Diezel for me. I'd be happy with a TOV or a IIC+. I'd be happy with a VH4 or a Herbert.
