Prices are way up as of late. There a few really nice IIC+ up for auction on weakbay now, take a look.

I noticed too. A Mark 3 for 2k? nah
Mine? With all the mods/export transformer makes it worth far more than a standard model. I thought giving it away was just poor judgment.

He's got a large collection of C+s. His listing for a C+ Coliseum was the only one I've seen on eBay or Reverb in a few yrs. He wanted 7K for it. But if you bought it, you'd have to rewire it for 110 here. The Coli transformers aren't specific to different countries, nor did they have an export trans like the other versions. All Coliseums can be re wired for 100/120 or 220/240. He has good feedback though, still a lot of cash for an overseas purchase.

No description needed for Mark amps. Everyone knows what they are and what they can do, only an idiot would just buy "an amp" for 5 grand. It's not a store, it's a person who is probably selling something they don't really want to part with in the first place. If an amp has some provenance that can be verified it would move the price, but other than that, you know the drill. Inquire, ask questions, haggle price, buy or not.

That sold my C++ in, oh about a day and, Jim, you complained about my description!

It's ridiculous, people want over $1500 for a Mark III. Not even serviced and not talking about yours specifically. The last 3 I've had within the last 4 or 5 years I've bought and sold for around 700 bucks. Hell, I've seen mark IV's for 900 and Mark V's for 1000. People are just psychotic thinking they can get that much for them. Any Mark III I've seen for over 900 bucks has sat for months on end.

I agree...with the exception being one similar to exo’s that has been
A. Recently serviced by Mike B
B. Multiple mods done by Mike B

If there are receipts proving the work done then I think higher prices are reasonable. I’ve owned 2 within the past 5 yrs, neither were updated or modded and both cost less than 800.

I paid $650 for my first Boogie, a Mark IV. I bought my second Mark IV for $550. I've owned three Mark III's, $450, $450, $500 and I have my eyes on another DC-10 listed locally for $425 https://albany.craigslist.org/msg/d/bal ... 38366.html. I paid $2000 fo a C+ SRG and $2200 for a DR C++. I bought a DC-5 head for $300, a 295 simul-stereo for $300 (with 6 space ATA case and power conditioner), a Studio pre-amp for $250, a Mark IIB coliseum for $1000. All of these purchases I bragged about on the Boogie Board at the time I bought them.

Just looked at the ad. Didn't know about the export transformer and plate voltage. My blue stripe, 100 watt, simulclass has the export transformer. I need to play it more often.

I dunno why prices get everyone so riled up here. If you don't want to pay someone's asking price, don't pay it and/or make an offer you would pay.

And sure, sometimes you can find a good deal; but that doesn't make it the "market price" for something. Recently asking prices have come up a lot on gear that is both (a) not made anymore and (b) something people actually want. Rectifiers, 5150s, RAT pedals, etc. I remember when I first started playing, JCM 800s and '70s Strats were selling for a few hundred bucks. Now look at their prices. The 2-channel Rectos seem to be creeping up the same way. And as people complain that the $3k JP2C doesn't sound as good as the actual C+ or sometimes even the III or IV, of course those prices are going to start coming up too.

Thank you, well stated. I have no problem keeping the amp. Only reason was I have too much. You can get your own for nothing, throw money and time into it and it might turn out well or it might not. They're all different, I wouldn't have it this long as if it wasn't the slayer that it is. Mike has worked on this amp exclusively more than 4x until it was tuned the was it sits now. I don't own multi channel blahblah this and switches that xyz crap. All I care is if it kills, if no one wants it they can spend more and get to where this amp is already, best of luck to them.

Maybe this will curb all the naysayers
