Mesa Simul-Satellite

Just bought one of these for 300 usd. Was planning to see how it goes with the KSR Ceres that’s coming my way. Any thought?

Have any of got any else ideas? Any preamp that would be cool to pair it with?

These don’t pop up very often. Is it a good power amp?

This is a great idea, by the way. That is the one big flaw with the Triaxis in my book.

Cool, I suppose that is the most practical version these days and what most guys would want. You most often see them as combos.

They are a great product that would sell like hotcakes in todays market, for everyones axe-fx's, kempers, etc.

I had one that I rack mounted and used as a power amp with quite a few preamps....and an AxFX or two.

If you like Mark Series power sections...which I do....you will love it with a preamp

Which preamps did you use it with?

It’s been a while, but I’m pretty sure I had the following:

Randall RM4 modular preamp
Marshall JMP1
Mesa Studio
Engl e530
ADA MP1....several modded versions
Rock from Prophesy
VHT GP3
AxeFX (don’t remember which versions)

There is probably more, but I can’t remember right now.

The simul Satellite is actually my favorite power amp (The VHT 2/50/2 is right there with it though). Not sure if they made a version without the graphic EQ, but I think it is key. The tone shaping available is fantastic.

My one and ONLY issue with it was that it was 4 spaces when rack mounted, so when you add in a preamp and power conditioner, you end up with a pretty good size rack.....not really grab and go.

Assuming it is in good shape, I think $300 is an absolute steel for it too.

If its the head thats the loaded version ( there are 2 versions of it) then,my gosh yes,you got a killer deal for sure.I use mine and love it.The satellite was originally built for expanding the mkiv b version,but honestly it sounds fantastic with other preamps too.

I haven't tried that power amp but the Ceres kills especially with a tube power section
