There is a guy who is asking about selling his Mesa V30 on facebook and was wondering about the price. I thought you could buy the Mesa V30 direct from Mesa so I looked at their site and they have their V30 that they put in the recto cabs for sell. Apparently they are talking about another speaker that was a V30 with Black Shadow written on it? When I posted the actual C90 Black Shadow speaker apparently thats not it either. Is there another type of Mesa V30 besides the UK made one? I just dont see how you can ask much for a used speaker that is still in production but apparently I'm thinking of something completely different..

Am I crazy or is their an actual v30 with black shadow written on it that you cant get from Mesa unless you pull it out of a cab?

Black Shadow is just the branding Mesa puts on their speakers. If you poke around you'll see plenty of different speakers like MC90s, V30s, and EVM12Ls with a Black Shadow sticker.

There are four Black Shadow speakers I'm aware of, and none of them were Vintage 30s. The first three were found in old metal grill cabs. The fourth is in current production open-back cabs and combos.

Black Shadow MS-12 (150W) - '80s Eminence-made EVM 12L copy. These have a knight on the label.
Vintage Black Shadow VS-12 (50W) - Eminence speaker. Found in lower end '80s combos.
Black Shadow EVM (200W) - OEM EVM 12L for Mesa.
Black Shadow MC-90 (90W) - The modern Black Shadow speaker. Celestion-made descendent of the Classic Lead 80.

This is correct.

I was thinking these guys were incorrect. The Mesa V30 isnt an unobtainable speaker. They sell the C90 and the English V30 as parts. Several people tried to say that the only way you could get the their speakers are to pull them out of the cab....

If you're looking for a "corrected" Vintage 30 speaker, check-out the Guytron Bigtone 55.

Look for a small dust cap if you think the speaker might be a V30.
All the other speakers Mesa used had large dust caps.

Mesa's V30 always look like standard V30 besides T numbers (4335-8ohm, 4316-16ohm).
Black Shadow label and Vintage name looks like 50W Eminence made speaker. They was used in halfbacks on top.
