I have had my nose in a Mesa Triple Rectifier again. And this time I recorded some "before and after mod"-clips.
The plan was to make channel 2 and 3 tighter, more focused and less boomy, to get rid of some background noise (which comes from bad layout) and make the clean channel crispier and more open sounding.
Here is a comparison between original vs modded on channel 2 and 3:
I was using the same settings for both channels:
Gain: 3 o'clock,
Volume: 9 o'clock
Precence: 12 o'clock
Treble: 12 o'clock
Middle: 12 o'clock
Bass: 12 o'clock
Voice switch was set to: Modern.
I'm playing my Greco EGF 1000 with a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge and a Seymour Duncan 59 in the neck, straight into the amp. It was recorded with a Shure SM57 in front of my Malmberg 4x12 with old Celestion Greenbacks.
Here is a video with all channels:
I'm playing on my Hagström Swede with a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge and the stock neck pickup. I used a TC G-major in the loop for some delays for channel 1. It's recorded with a Shure SM57 and a Sontronics Delta.
