I have had my nose in a Mesa Triple Rectifier again. And this time I recorded some "before and after mod"-clips.
The plan was to make channel 2 and 3 tighter, more focused and less boomy, to get rid of some background noise (which comes from bad layout) and make the clean channel crispier and more open sounding.

Here is a comparison between original vs modded on channel 2 and 3:

I was using the same settings for both channels:

Gain: 3 o'clock,
Volume: 9 o'clock
Precence: 12 o'clock
Treble: 12 o'clock
Middle: 12 o'clock
Bass: 12 o'clock
Voice switch was set to: Modern.

I'm playing my Greco EGF 1000 with a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge and a Seymour Duncan 59 in the neck, straight into the amp. It was recorded with a Shure SM57 in front of my Malmberg 4x12 with old Celestion Greenbacks.

Here is a video with all channels:

I'm playing on my Hagström Swede with a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge and the stock neck pickup. I used a TC G-major in the loop for some delays for channel 1. It's recorded with a Shure SM57 and a Sontronics Delta.

Badass, man...you got rid of a lot of the fizz. It sounds much better now. Thanks for the vid.

listen to all this guys mods if you can, he is really good.

Damn that sounds good! Every mod you have posted sounds fantastic.

That sounds incredible.
When I think of modern heavy guitar. That's the tone.
Great job man.

Damn, that second vid is some of the best recto tone I've ever heard. It's not quite as big as the trademark recto sound but it has that nice "purr" on chords and none of the annoying fizz. All of your videos sound great.

Hearing that 'before' tone makes me cringe. Reminds me of the years I spent going through fizzy, flubby love-hate recto hell! Lol.
