Where I think they missed on the he mark v:25 is having a 10watt mode versus a 5watt mode. I mean the big mark V has a 10watt mode too, so the V:25 on paper doesn't really do the low wattage thing any better.

The thing with the V:25 is that 10w/25w is Triode/Pentode... But both modes are still class A/B.

The Mk V's 10w mode is class A, which if I understand things correctly will have even less headroom than the V:25s 10w mode.

Add in the big V's variac, triode and tube rectifier options and I wouldn't be surprised if it was only pushing 6-7 watts when fully sagged out.

Bedroom volume is different for all but I've found the Mark V:25 to be sufficient for high gain, clean, and in between sounds at low/quiet volumes just fine. Two rooms away I don't wake up the wife and it sounds no different than TV volume. If one doesn't have that space things may change but I would have no issues with it in an apartment either with a smaller cab or Cab Clone to PC.

Just got back from band practice with my 25. I have to say, I loved the tone through my 4x12. Our drummer is an extremely heavy hitter but no problems being heard in the mix. It performed really fuckin well. I'm honestly contemplating using this with the band from now on and letting my tverb go. Going to do some a/b tests soon.
