Messing with the ClinchFX EP-Pre...here's a quick clip

It cleans up the bloated lows and low mids and adds a bit of nice definition.

sounds good man, was the amp set clean? That pedal does clean up the tone when it kicked in, and no TS mids or anything, very cool. So... La Villa Strangiato - that brings up memories! When I was 14 I had 2 cousins, 1 played drums and 1 played bass. We spent a whole summer off of school working on like the 1st 10 minutes of that tune - ahhhh the good old days!

That's the amp set clean, running into both channels with a splitter into the low inputs, with a Phase 90, Wampler Pinnacle 2 for gain, a Carbon Copy for delay and the EP-Pre is last in the chain set to 12:00.
I like the EP-Pre pedal on all the time, it's just what this older voiced Marshall needs to clear it up. I have the Marshall's bass on 0 and this pedal still clears up some mud and makes the distortion sound clearer.
It's not really much of a boost at all, just a tone shaper that you can leave on, makes the clean tone nicer as well when I turn off the Wampler.

My old band in high school used to jam all that old Rush stuff for hours, lots of memories here as well.

Thanks, that Phase 90 is good for goofing around on lots of different stuff.

My bass player and I drive home from a gig last weekend and we had La Villa cranked in the car on the way home...when it was over we both had are mouths hanging open...that song is awesome, forgot how good it was.

It's like a polisher, removing some lows and shines the high mids a bit.

Thanks man...I miss that amp, it's been in need of a repair for a long time...she no work right now and I have to ship it to California to have Carvin work on it.
