Wow, some good choices here. My band used to share the same practice space as Solstice back in 1990 in Miami at a warehouse that was very close to Tamiami airport. I could tell you some stories man. I jammed a couple times with them, as I would usually get to practice earlier than anyone else and Dennis and clan would be cranking so fucken heavy, the walls of the place would quiver. I remember on of the guys in Solstice had a rough copy of Meshuggas very first album on tape before it was officially released. We all sat in the studio and had jaws hit the floor as it played.
All of these guys including myself held Coroner in the highest regard. The guitar player ,Tom Vertilli, or Tom T Baron, as he went by on their albums was just untouchable with amazing riffs, phrasing, and lead playing. If you haven't listened to some Coroner, do yourself a favor and step back into some first class, grade A thrash done old school. If you can put Ron Royces rasp behind you, you find a plethora of amazing tunes and technique by a band that sadly never reached the masses. Tom Baron is one of my favorite guitarists from the era.
Albums in order of my personal preference:
No More Color
Coroner (self titled and very hard to find)
Mental Vortex
Punishment for Decadence
