Microphonic tube test?????

I've got a very high pitch sound and kind of like a spacy almost phase sound. I'm thinking its a microphonic tube. How do you guys check to see if thats it. Just tap them 1 by 1 and the micro tube will really make noise? Thanks.

yes, a pencil works good

i might add that its not wise to tap tubes, especially hot. that is not wise, and i do not recommend it, but if that is your only method of testing then that is how you can tell.

Man,what happened to all those tube testers they had in the stores like Thirfty and Sav-ons,used to just go in there and use these things in like their copy machines,man that was some time ago
