...is more like a sound of the day it seems.
Or a sound for the Mix, or a feel thing, or whatever. I checked the Preamp Tubes recently. Switched the slots. Cause one was a JJ in V2 and i put it in V4, switched back, realized they are microphonic and replaced all, except for the JJ, cause i only had 3 left, with Grovve Tubes, which are also JJ :D Then i dialed in a new sound and thought: THAT'S IT. And i made a Clip yesterday, which i did not post. Today i dialed in a new sound and made a new Clip after recording a few different sounds i found with the Lenz and the Boost. The second one is from yesterday, the first one from today. I think i like booth. But who knows how it is tomorrow? The 2 other sounds didn't work as well in the Mix, so i left them out. I think the Bass Tone is cool.
What's your "Sound in your Head"? Is it static, or does it change?

I have a set of what I consider general tones for clean, rhythm and leads. They vary by music genre; and I have a few variations in each genre set. I'm not looking to be exact or duplicating a specific player's sound for the most part, just something that sounds good to me for that style/genre of music.

For example, I have a set of 80s hair metal / thrash tones, that get me close to Stryper, White Lion, Metallica, etc. I have a set of '80s new wave tones, for The Smiths, The Cure, Duran Duran, A Flock of Seagulls, etc. A set of prog tones (still working on Holdsworth sounds), mostly Dream Theater at this point; and I have a few more genre tone sets ('60s, psychedelic, fusion, death,...)

Sounds more organized than it is, but I have gear for my favorite genres...for example, prog, I use my JP-2C + HX-Effects in 4CM, with my Jacksons or EBMM guitars

These days I'm enjoying a set of tones for '70s - '80s hard rock tones Vincent-era Kiss, using my Bogner or Engl, and Ibanez PS10, to get tones like this:

Nice tone! I dig it.

The tone in my head is basically a Mesa Mark style tone thru V30's and I get damn close with my Mark IV and my Avatar cab, but I wouldn't mind adding a IIC+ to the stable one day.

Interesting. Thanks. I'm just going for the 1 sound. My own. Whatever that is :D
"for example, prog, I use my JP-2C + HX-Effects in 4CM, with my Jacksons or EBMM guitars" totally makes sense. (y)

Thanks. I dialed it in differently today. :D Same Amp-Settings like in the first half of the clip, but different Boost-Settings. Did not record it yet. At least i really enjoyed it loud in the room.
You mean a Vintage II2C+? I've seen a Reissue 2C++ listed in a German Store today. No delivery date yet.
What about a matching Mesa Cab for your Mark IV? Never tried an Avatar Cab.

I end up sounding like me, for better or worse; but I have tones for the different genres I like; and in each genre, clean, rhythm and lead tones - with a few alternatives for each, using EQ, different effects, etc.

I generally like my cleans to have some chorus; my rhythm tones to be dry, sometimes with a slight delay / detune to fatten them up, and if stereo I'll pan the tones left and right; for more modern rhythm tones, I may add some compression to make it tighter, smoother or more polished;

my lead tones are: genre oriented too: 60s, classic / hard rock, I'll use a second amp channel and/or an EQ pedal; for my more modern/prog/fusion lead tones I use more effects to get liquid/glassy/smooth sustaining tones with some ambience (e.g., ducking delays, or multiple short / medium delays panned left, right, center - a Holdsworth UD-stomp approach. which works great on cleans too)

How many Amps, Guitars, Cabs, Pedals do you have? For me it's difficult enough to find the 1 sound. I just use 1 Guitar, Pedal, Amp, Cab and for recording a Single 57, nowadays. And it's still 1000 different possibilities. :D

When I can save enough I'm gonna get a reissue iic+ I think??

I also have a Mess OS 4x12 as well that I use with the IV. Still think I prefer the avatar to be honest.

Sounds good. Both. :)
Never been a Big Fan of the Mesa Cabs. I had a few. But if one likes the Mesa Sound.
If you have the Chance, you should check out a Marshall MF280B.

My Avatar is possibly the best cab I’ve ever played.
