hey everyone,
Hope everyone is healthy and safe. So i tried doing the whole bunch of pedals for effects and amp and then I realized why I never did pedals. LOL.

long story short.. I am selling my pedals but already got my self a TC Gmajor 2 in the mail.

So my question.. are there any midi controllers that will allow switching channels on the Splawn Nitro as well as Changing patches on the TC G-major 2?

I am looking looking to be able to engage effects on their own at any given time without having to switch amp channels.. for example while on the Gain channel, I'd like to bring in a flanger or Phaser to go along with it for some riffs, and then disengage the effect while staying on the sam echannel.

Thanks

The Gmajor 2 should have built in relay switching - my gmajor 1 did. If it does then you can set patches up to trigger different relay settings and then have a basic “no effects” type patch. I’m not sure how your foot switch connects to your splawn nitro though. Is it via TRS 1/4” or via a proprietary cable?

Any MIDI footswitch capable of control change (CC) messages should do that. Basic MIDI controllers only send program change (PC) messages, which are used to change presets on the G Major. Hook up the G Major's switch out relay jack to the Splawn with a TRS-to-dual-TS Y-cable. Assign effects/relays in a patch to CC values and switch them all with the controller.

"For each parameter, you can configure how it should be controlled. Use the ADJUST wheel to select between the following options:
- Off
- Learn
- Pedal
- CC 1 to 128."

Axess MFC-5 is the most compact controller I'm aware of that will work. With larger alternatives (e.g. CAE RS10, RJM Mastermind, etc.) you could assign individual bypasses or relay switches to buttons, rather than doing everything on a patch basis.

The Voodoo Ground Control should also work in this scenario.

Thank you everyone.

I am not sure if the G Major 2 will be able to switch the Splawn's channels. The Nitro has 2 1/4 jacks that are both TRS.

I know Voodoo Labs has a control witcher that has 4 TS outputs and Support just told me to get 2 TRS to Y TS and it should work, but the issue is doesnt work with "no program". It'll respond to every midi switch you sent it.

I didn't realize the Nitro used two TRS jacks. You'd have to add a MIDI-controlled function switcher (like the Axess CFX4, Voodoo Lab Control Switcher, or CAE RL8) to switch more than two functions.

Alternatively, something bigger (e.g. Voodoo GCX) could switch the G-Major out of your signal path for dry tones and handle all the extra control switching.

Gmajor2 actually controls two relays out of one trs jack. You may need to make a custom cable but I bet it will work.

question is what type of 1/4" plug would I need on the G-major 2 side or how would I wire it to be able to switch Clean/OD, OD1/OD2 and toggle solo mode?

The G-Major will only switch two functions. It sounds like your amp has three functions, so there's no way to control them all with just that unit—end of story. If the two more important functions share a jack on the Splawn, just run a TRS cable from the G-Major.

I primarily use the clean to OD channel switcher. At times i use OD2 for leads since it has a bit more gain and low end... But if i can settle for clean and OD2 switching with the g major 2, I'd be happy.

The Gmaj2 can do switching. I also use the Berhinger midi controller, which can also do it. When I ran my powerball, it had two trs inserts, so I figured out through a combination of mono to stereo cables to make it work. Between the two, you should be all set.
