So I'm pretty much a noob here even though I haven't posted hardly at all. So I have a question that pertains to dual amp rigs and use of effects in the loops with midi.

I recently acquired a Mesa Roadster to accompany my Stiletto. While I'm really digging the Recto tone, I still miss the British roar of the Stiletto. Now this makes me want to build a midi switching system for use of both heads and the effect therein.

Is there anyway for me to use the same effects, front of amp and loop, of one amp and use them in the other amp as well. I've been thinking of a getting a g major 2 or g force for the delays, reverbs, and such in the loop, and using my standard Overdrives and compressor in the front.

Am I getting ready for a huge headache or what?!

Obligatory shot of amps:

Yeah I will have another recto 2-12. I was looking into the Rack gizmo because it would do all I'm asking for for one amp. Just wondering if there is something else a a rack unit that could somehow split the front signal to two amps, loop into two loops, and have midi control over both amps and their channels.

I use a RG-16v.2 with pedals in front of 2 amps Mesa and 20th X either at the same time or each individually. There is a Strymon Flint in the mesa effects loop, nothing in the 20th x loop. Im not sure but I think the loop out of each amp into the same effect wouldn't work. I use one amp dry and the other wet.
Now I have run 2 Egnater M4's into a RG-16 and in an amp loop. the RG-16 would switch one unit out and the other unit in.

You can split the signal after the pedals for the front of both amps. I would use two G majors for the 2 loops, otherwise you could run into grounding issues and noise.

You can ask Ron at RJM about running both amps loops into a effects gizmo or similar unit, switching one loop at a time for 1 effect unit but they are not going to work both at the same time.

This sounds rather simple to me, and it can change in complexity based on how you want to run it.
I'm doing this with GCX logic, which means each loop has "in," "send," "return," and "out."
You can think of each amp head as a preamp and a power amp. You can use one loop of a midi looper to isolate each preamp and A/B between them. You then take that signal and run it into a loop with your effects in it, then use a loop to select between which power amp you want to use.

The first loop in tha diagram shows how to use the GCX in A/B fashion
