Might have to sell off almost all of my gear :(

Sorry to hear this Reza.

Of course, some things ARE more important than gear...<asks self, "did I just say that?">
I know you have some sweet goodies and it stinks to have to let some of it go.
I always enjoy your clips.
Thought you had just posted about a Friedman pedal board too.

Not sure what would happen if that came up for me right now...hoarding is probably a kind way to put it.
However, if the situation demands it, "things" can always be replaced.

Hope it all works out for the best.

Reza, so sorry to hear about this.

I too, experienced this, once in my life awhile ago.

Funny thing, I was able to buy back one of my 1960B cabs.

All in all, I slowly replaced everything I let go, with much better and more gear.

Love you videos and hey, you were the one that introduced me to Friedman and Strymon.

I bought the Timeline, but still don't have a Friedman...oh well, maybe some day.

Good luck Brother.

Sorry to hear. I've had to sell guitars to pay for things too like medical bills or to help pay for my fiancés engagement ring (Suhr S6 and JEM77FP). Try to sell what you know you can find later on when you're in a better situation if possible.

Sorry to hear that. I've been in that boat a few times because my family has grown. But it's all good because of my families overall health and happiness. And in the end,I've been able to replace their gear or get even new gear

Hope everything works out and good luck

Not a fun situation. But gear is replaceable. Good luck, sir.

Sorry man. Keep your favorite 2 of each if it comes down to it. Hopefully it doesn't. Friedman Marshall and VH4. Off the top of my head. Good luck and best wishes!

You might actually feel better with a more streamlines setup!
Less things to fix...less to save in case of fire...and you can give more attention to your favorite gear.
Or just divorce her and upgrade to a model that is defect free.

Serious about this.... Get a Kemper and profile all your amps.

Bummer dude. Good luck.

Try to see it as a blessing in disguise. I have way too many guitars. There are two, maybe three, that I really like, but somehow I never play them because I'm spending all my time trying to fix what I don't like about the other guitars. Makes absolutely no sense. I'd be much better off just selling almost all of it.

sorry, do what you have to do. Stuff can always be replaced.

I personally would like to get down to 6 electrics, one acoustic, a couple amps and 4x12's myself but I have a hard time letting things go that I love ;)

Like Shawn said... let go what you know you can replace, and downsizing isn't bad..
I've been on gear deals where we said if the buyer ever sold, I get first dibs.. I have had 3-4 pieces of gear get back to me because of it.

Good luck with whatever the situation is....

Lame dude....but at least you have the stuff to sell! They ARE just things, no matter how we feel about them, and you can always get more. Sell em here if you can, to people that understand your situation and will allow you to buy them back when you can?

Wow. Sorry to hear this, man. Hope it's nothing too serious that's forcing this.

Well Its a serious opportunity, so its coming from something good. Im still looking at other avenues for a cash infusion, but if that doesnt work out a big for sale thread will be posted. will know more next week.
Ah, that's cool. Good to hear it's not due to health, divorce, etc...Hope this opportunity pans out for you.

I'm sure it has been said, but I'd keep what is sentimental and what is hard to get. For example, you can't exactly pick up a Friedman modded Marshall off of the shelf at you local GC. Same with the Diezel(s). I'd probably start with pedals as well. Unless they are vintage, you can replace those easily.

My rule of thumb,is to keep things that are vintage, sentimental, or hard to replace.

I had to sell everything off not too far in the past. It was a bummer for sure, but you eventually come to terms with it. I will say when you are in the middle of selling everything off, it sucks, quite bad actually, for the gear that you have had for many years, it feels as if you are losing a good friend!! but, then sooner or later you will have the pleasure of acquiring new gear!! Who doesn't love getting new gear!!

Sucks man. I'm on my 2nd MKV and hopefully I keep this one. Have sold off shit multitudes of times. But I just focus on what's coming, not what's done and in the past. I often think of the fact that it's just stuff too, and you don't get to keep anything in life.

It's only gear. Unless it has sentimental value, it can all be replaced. I learned long ago to just let-go of stuff when I needed to. Cause that's all it is... STUFF. Do what ya gotta do and don't look back.

P.S. I'm not trying to diminish your personal strife as a result of having to go through this purge. I've been there and am likely headed there again (to pay for an upcoming spinal fusion). But on your death bed, as you lay there contemplating your life and its purpose -- you likely won't think about your stuff AT ALL. People and experiences matter... things don't (contrary to many a forum member's credo).
