Hey all, figured I’d get a demo in showing Mikko how I use it. I’ll warn you, it’s a bit of a long one. There are time stamps in the YT description so you can jump to the playing. If you’re not familiar with Mikko, it’s kind of like Wall Of Sound but you can create and export your own IR’s to use in your modeler or DAW.

I used the Crunch channel of the Gemini and my P90 loaded LP. The Torpedo Studio is working as my loadbox. I have Native running for some verb and I add in some chorus/delay at points as well as Boost with the Fortin Blade.

I run through all the cabs and mics as well as some of the plug in features.

Most importantly, I create a preset, export it then load into Native to compare how the exported IR sounds relative to the plug in and switch back and forth between the two.

I use the crunch on my Orthos and my Ceres more than the other channels these days. Hitting it with a Klon clone or Maxon OD 808 just sounds so good. How would you rate the mikko vs wall of sound?

Very different. One thing, the range of placement on the Mikko speakers is nuts. However, you have to like how he makes his IR’s to really enjoy it. I happen to like them very much. The face that it lets you export your own IR’s as well is nutty and you get more than two mics.

I need more time with it but it is WAY worth the cost and I like it better than Libra for sure.

Two Notes is still king of the heap for me but that’s because it’s a great all in one solution and I vastly prefer their cabs to static IR’s.

CNt go wrong with either but for now TN still is tops for me. What Mikko works out though is that exporting of the IR. I wish TN did that for sure.
