Anyone here try a Mills Acoustics 4x12? What are your impressions? I have a front loaded/ported Hiwatt 4x12 with old H's and 30's (one of the 30's is a Weber) and so far nothing beats it's. I'm curious to see if the Mills will. For those unfamiliar...

They seem like pretty cool cabs but I'll stick with my Jenkins Sound Systems JSS412 thanks.

Do a search on the topic, there's been a few discussions.

My 4x12 gas ended when I bought a Bogner. Love that cab.

LOVE my Mills cabs.

Got rid of everything else, and now have 2

I'm not a fan of the way they sit in a mix, the tonality sounds very rounded, almost like a bass guitar. I prefer the Mesa rectifier cab because it has a nice chunky 'crunch'. This is very much an opinion based thing and it depends a lot on the style of music. The Mills cab would be perfect for a tone like Meshuggah IMO. Bottom line, if you have a cab that you like, stick with it ;)

Port City without a doubt! I don't think they get enough credit because many people have not tried them. I've had many, and it's definitely my Fav. I'm trying to sell one as we speak to fund a 2x12, because I really think a 2x12 will suit me. You should at least give em a look.

I'll stick with my Emperors for now.
"The Family" wants to welcome you Gene, they can be your friend. :D

Theyre good cabs but the afterburner is too heavy and big for me. Plus I think they sound very simular to the recto cab. A used recto cab would be you best option IMO

Well, in that case

BTW, Whats with all of the Recto 4x12 love lately?

They've been fairly hated for a long time. I bought one when they were REALLY out of fashion. A good friend of mine stole it and disappeared forever. Truthfully, I never connected with the sound of the cab, and I wasn't very angry when he stole it.   :aww:
