Tomorrow’s football grub is Shrimp and Sausage Gumbo. I have all the vegetables prepped so I can just assemble - other than whisking for 45+ minutes to build the roux…

Between needing to pull all the weight because the Mrs. has the broken elbow and the last two weeks of a chaotic multi-million $ project go live, I seriously need some downtime. Assemble early tomorrow, and then sit in my ass to watch football and F’n veg. I need this..,
 
Mise en place is the way. However, you did forget to prep one nescessary item....the burrs 😎

Sounds like you need a couple.
 
I just finished simmering the stock with the shrimp tails and a couple of minced Dragon Cayenne peppers. Strained it and now I’m browning the sausage.

Ta Da! Quite possibly the best gumbo. On the planet. Ever 😆. Truth be told, I should have bought the next smaller size of shrimp. I got 16 - 20 and they are a bit larger than bite- sized. Needing to cut them in half when eating is not a deal-breaker, but smaller shrimps would have been better…
