I'm definitely not a Mark guy :dunno:
I could hear differences but not enough to scoop your panties over.
If I had to choose, I'd take the V for the versatility but you guys enjoy your thread

Nice to see both the III red stripe and IV Rev A get some love. Those are the versions I own and everyone here loves to shit on both of them.

"III's are too harsh..."

"IV Rev B or GTFO..."

So fucking stupid.

Man I dunno. The red stripe III has a pretty killer reputation for metal.

Dude...seems like everyone else here thinks differently. I've owned 2 different III reds and have kept my current one for many years now. It's an insane sounding amp. So punishing and brutal but for sure old school sounding. Nothing else like it.

I've played the IIC+ RI fairly recently and even made a thread about how I see why it's so highly regarded over all the other marks. Its a special amp for sure but man its not fucking worlds apart like the internet thrives on preaching about.

But I've been over that particular debate for a long while now.

The one that really makes me laugh and just realize there are more bored people than actual active people who post on forums like these is the whole MKIV Rev A vs B popular opinions. Its like you have AIDS if you even enjoy or like the Rev A over the Rev B. These amps couldn't sound and feel closer to each other than any other popular revision change amp out there. Its so miniscule-y marginal that only people on forums like here who have no life would even care to bring it up and debate it.

100%. BUT (Lol) I do think the OG ++ has the extra 3-5% of holy shit!!!! Pushes so much air while saturated and tight. Special. That said I'd never entertain paying $15K for one.

IV sounded more extended in the highs and lows. V was brighter overall. This reflects my experience with these amps. The prices he has listed for the IV and V seem way too high compared to what I’ve seen lately.

I've owned both versions of the IV and had a IIC+ for about a year as well. The IV rev B was my favorite Boogie I have ever owned and played. The others were great but the rev B was fantastic. I still kick myself for selling that amp.
