I've been thinking about doing this forever. I just never get around to it.. LOL! :D
One of these days when the wife and kids leave me alone for a couple hours, I'll fiddle with that pedal.

I was thinking of doing this:

I like the bass cutoff from the SD-1 and I don't need more gain from it. There was a mod I read that just involves removing one resister, I think it is C6, will make it more open sounding, that's the one I want to try.
Exactly my thoughts. I just use my SD-1 as an input boost. I have no shortage of bass or gain in my tone beforehand.
I can see this mod be good for someone using it as a blues OD though. On second thought, by your description it sounds like the mod made the pedal sound more like a Boss OD-3 which I also have. They have a thicker, bassier tone with more gain on tap than the SD-1.

Yeah, lots of cool stuff to do with that pedal - my favorite one so far is just jumpering one fo the diodes to make the clipping like a tubescreamer - that made it sound more open to me and a little more organic sounding.

I always hated the bass cutoff myself....both my SD-1 and TS9 are more flat response now. That's what I like... :)
