Hey Dave,
Do you do any modifications to the power section of this amp for the standard set of mods available through Jet City, or is everything limited to the Pre-Amp? And what modifications would be available for the power section? Lower wattage mode, depth/presence circut, ect...

I would assume you add a gain stage in the power section for the BE, and the saturation switch is a Diode Clipping Section, correct? Feel free to dismiss this if you don't want to reveal any more about your circut.

Thanks to all that reply,
-Casey

There is nothing really to do. I could do a depth knob but in the standard mod there is a preset depth in the amp already and I also change the presence some.

Ah, ok. So you don't change much in the Power Section for your standard mods. That's interesting. I would have thought the JCA20H would need another gain stage to get that tone. I guess it makes since you don't add one, as it seems to me that most of the tone of the BE mod comes from the pre-amp section.

Please correct me if I'm being accidentally slanderous. I'm trying to learn a bit about amplifier engineering.

Is the saturation switch something that can be done on it's own, or does it need to be combined with one of the other mods?

Dave only does the BE mod. You can add the SAT as an option. I'd recommend it.

The Saturation Switch is an optional add on to the Brown Eye mod. It adds more gain to the mod and gives it a more "modern" sound IMO. If you plan on playing metal with the Brown Eye mod, you gotta have the Sat. Switch.
