When I think of all the modded Marshall on roids tones and whatnot I usually think of Lynch on Back For The Attack. It just seems like that's the tone the modders, builders, hacks, are trying to nail.

Yeah I know, it's probably just that stock Purple Superlead he borrowed from Martini. It's not an SLO on this album.

For me , Ride The Lightning. In particular , the opening riff to Trapped Under Ice

Van Halen's debut. \:D/

I kid.

Most of the iconic early/mid '80s stuff that sound like modded Marshalls to me were probably just stock amps boosted. At this point, when I think of an album that showcases modded Marshall tone, I think of John Norum's Another Destination album. Mark Cameron's work is all over it.

I believe Alice in Chains Man in the Box was a modded Marshall by Bogner.

Exodus - Force of Habit (from the CD liner notes: mods done by Todd Langer)

One of my favorite songs from the album showcasing their modded Marshall tones:

Steve via had 4 of his favorite Marshall's modded by Jose for his gig with Roth.
Mick Mars also had Jose modded Marshall's on a few records but I believe dr feel good has a lot of it.
Slash had his caswell modded jmp that he rented/stole and used on afd. Then the Levi modded Jcm on the illusion records.

The purple SL belonged to Aston Pittman former founder of groove tewbs.

I own the ultimate Marshall modded tone IMO.

John Norum - Face The Truth

Farmikos(Joe Holmes)

Skid Row Monkey Business (tho I believe they are just boosted JCM's)... That album IS marshall tone to me.

Anything Stuck Mojo, Rich Ward had some big ballsy Marshall tones for sure.

Back for the Attack and Ratt Dancing Undercover, same amp.. awesome tones.

Back for The Attack was mostly done with a Randall. I even think it might have been solid state.

The Skids used a Rivera M 100 for those tones I believe..I used to have a Rivera TBR 1SL that was formerly owned by Jason Bieler of Saigon Kick. SK opened up for Skid Row and they loved Bieler's tone so much they picked up those M 100s and recorded MB with them. Another great modded Marshall tone is on John Sykes Bad Boy live from 2006...Jose modded JCM 800. Killer.

I don't care if it's an ADA MP1 or not, but Extreme's Pornographity, XYZ's Hungry and Wildside's Under the Influence are all examples of the best sounding hot rodded "Marshall's"...IMO of course.

For me it's classic Lynch tones as well. \:D/

I thought they used Rivera TBR-1SL's on that, sounds like boosted Marshalls though.
