I want a modded plexi or 800 but don't know all the different modders. What are the different types of mods and your favorite?

I would get a Hot Mod V2 EVO and replace one of the 12AX7 with a 12AT7. That or just use overdrive pedals.

You don't think having a modded plexi would sound much different than a sd1 in front? Are those hot mods easy to install? Do you think I could put one in a jcm 800kk?

Plenty of options out there. Just decide what kind of sound you're after and find the guy to do it. You're also not just paying for the mod, but you're paying for the person who does the work. There's a lot to be said about craftsmanship, communication, and professionalism.

I tried the Hot Mod V2 EVO in 3 amps. One was a Plexi Small box clone. Andy Marshell let me borrow It. It definitely can add a lot of gain. It takes about five minutes to put in or take out of a amp.

There is a few different models. I don't know what one works with the KK.

As for pedal and modifications there is a lot of variables. Having said that the SD1 and Marshall is a perfect fit.

Looks like Jeremy is getting a lot of love, which is well deserved. He'll work a Marshall into much more than you could ever get with a pedal(s) and take the time to help talk you through the process and make decisions. Plus, you'll get your amp back in weeks, not years.

There are many amp makers that make amps based on modded Marshalls, or will mod your stock Marshall.

Freidman amps.

Some Bogner amps (e.g., Helios Eclipse, which I own).

Engl Artist Edition 100 (which I own).

I also consider my JCM 900 Model 2100 SL-X to be a modded JCM-800 though many 800 purists will likely disagree. The SL-X uses an additional tube gain stage vs other 900s that use clipping diodes for that gain stage.

My buddy just had his JCM 800 modded by Jeremy. He buys and sells a ton of amps and gear. He loves the MOAB and is very unlikely to sell it. He had the amp shipped to Jeremy and received back in under 2 weeks. Jeremy also sent a bunch of emails back and forth detailing the amp and recommended settings. He also did the same for me when I purchased a Hellion. Can't recommend Ground Zero enough.

My friend put a Hot Mod in his KK and it’s sounds great. Definitely increased the gain and aggression.

I have wanted to try a hotmod in my 800KK for a long time. But every time I plug into it I just say "Damn,I love this amp just how it is!"

I’d love a Ground Zero Marshall (Sniper) and one of his Rectifiers (assuming I had the cash, of course). UK/Europe you have Dan Gower and Hermansson. In Australia you have Jason at Headfirst. @FourT6and2 does some great work so I hear, and there’s also Hopkins (I assume both US-based?) and Monomyth (also US).
