I need some monitors for my home studio. Any recommendations? Thanks for your help.

I like KRK Rokit serie
I've seen them in lots of small pro studios

Yamaha hs80m 299 a piece. And the sub is 400 I think. The best bang for the buck IMHO of course

Stay away from KRK's....way too bassy. Not flat at all.

I'd go with Dynaudio bm5a mkII monitors. I tried out every monitor I could find under $1,000 and these crushed them all! Sadly, I couldn't afford them so I went with the M-Audio bx5a monitors.

Disagree, at least with the VXT6s I have. They are the next step up from the Rokits.

$1200 a pair, discounted to $999 a pair at GC, $649 NEW at hello music. I paid $600 for mine used and they are great.

Sorry, I specifically meant the Rokit series.

Did you try messing with the HF level adjust on the back?

Yea, I tried everything I could. Had them almost 2 years. The M-Audios are better for less money....although the 8" monitors are a little hyped in the bass. I'd go with 5" + woofer. Seriously though, just a pair of dynaudio bm5a monitors they will be the best.

when I bought mine I got them for 550 each new....can't tell ya why though :D

I have Dynaudio BM5A's. Upgraded from Berhinger Truth's and I love them.

I have a pair of Mackie MR8 that works just fine. They are not as expensive as their top of the line but they sound good and nice for mixing a balanced mix.
I know my clips sound better using them.

I second that. Those are the ones I'm going to buy actually, when I move abroad next year.

I own the older Adam A7s. I've been completely satisfied with them for years, but I do believe they cost more than $1000.

I was originally thinking of going the Yamaha hs8 route (the successor to the hs80m's), but I havent seen many reviews yet. I know the adams are killer but also about 3 times as much.
