Mono to Stereo effects wiring ????

with units like the Eggie M4, TC 2290 TC Gsystem and others that are mono in and stereo out , how do you run it all stereo? If you have a switcher (GCX or RJM) do you run into the preamp then into to a unit with stereo / split it to a left and right but then the next unit has a mono in/ stereo out, how do you keep it true stereo? Is there a trick with the switcher?

I was wondering that but looking at Rareguitar's rig, which is similar to mine, I didnt see one. I am thinking about taking the TC G system out og the rig and replacing it with a Eventide H8000fw. Is there a midi controlled line mixer?
