Hey guys,

Just finished up another Cali Mod over the weekend, this one is a 1979 JMP 100watt. This one is a Cali with a few new tweaks to the circuit that Mike Fortin and I are experimenting with. It also has a Tube Buffered FX Loop, Hair and Thump (poweramp voicing) controls.

Recorded a very quick/rough clip using my iPhone 4 camera and thought i would share it with you guys. I'll make some more video clips over the next few days, demonstrating more tones that the Cali has to offer.

This is with my Fender USA Strat and the Harley Benton 2x12 w V30's. Gains set around 2 o clock, Master Volume on 1 (low volume), Saturation switch set on high, and the EQ controls all set between 11 o clock to 1 o clock. Depth at 9 o clock, Hair and Thump controls both at 12 o clock.

Cheers!
Dan

Seems a little smoother I dig it.

The cool thing with having the Hair control, is that you can dial in the amp's power section to sound darker or brighter or anywhere inbetween. Makes the amp much more versatile!

Sounds awesome! Killer playing too. One of your best sounding clips.

V1 with yellow labels sound the best.

Sounds great Dan

Tone is in the labels. This revision can have the bumpy braille labels ala Jose, for those authentic toanz!!! :D

Thanks Chad!! Digging your recent clips a lot too

What I love about this spec other then the obvious is that it plays well with V30's and greenbacks which is great for me given that I love to switch cabs........ a lot hahahaha!!

Oh yeah this spec works killer with most cabs to be honest, Greenbacks/V30's/75's etc. Really nice because i too like to switch up cabs regularly for different tones!

Most definitely!

Ive been doing some Speaker cab hording lately.

I now have a V30 loaded 4x12 & 2x12, 2 MC90 ported 2x12 cabs, 1 h30 4x12 cab, 1 Greenback 4x12 cab, a Splawn 4x12 loaded with Big blocks, 1 had a 4x12 with Weber blue but "H" has them loaded in his cab and 2 1x12's loaded with celestion 70/80's :D

I'm so tapped out $$$ now but in the future some proper 65's , 75's and possibly some scumbacks would more then likely finish the collection. It realy is great to have many cabs when testing amps. Most definitely can make or break a sound IMHO.

that was killer Dan. Definitely one of the best Marshall Mod sounds i've heard next to Rockstahs. Sexy riffing too ;)
