I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post a link or not, so I won't. On their website, the Smashing Pumpkins have posted a YouTube video answering a few questions from fans. On the last question, Billy Corgan details his live setup and says that a lot of the album was done using a Herbert and that he uses it a lot live obviously. He finishes by saying it's the best amp he's heard!

Obviously Billy Corbin has good taste and a good ear to boot! Peter Diezel, the messiah of guitar amplifiers!

. . . a Diesel . . .whats it called? Hörbört? . . . . and a bunch of german pädals . . . .

LOL

Billy writes cool songs, I saw them (my wife is a fan) live several years ago in Oberhausen, standing next to Toten Hosen's Bassman (how is he called?). Nice show. Nice songs. I think he used VH4s at that time with these monster fridge racks. The drummer is/was AWESOME.

Its seems that he loves german stuff...like pädals and diezels - eh Herbörts :D->-<

hahaha realy cool sentence he said at last :D:D

That's odd. The hard rock type stuff I recorded recently with my Herbert by itself, with my fuzz pedal, and with my wah, I thought sounded generally Pumpkinsesque, but mostly like the tones on the last Pumpkins album! I wonder why? Hmmmm....

I had the pleasure and fortune to see the (new) pumpkins in Berlin this year and it was pure magic. Candy sounds for the ears and nice blue lights from the Herbert top next to the Bogner (Überschall IMHO. If I remember right I saw BC switching from CH 1 to 3 lots of times, not so much Ch 2.

@Me: as far as I know BC used to use 2 VH4 amps before he got the Herbert (and maybe also the Bogner).

SP is one of the reasons I once realized I'm not able to resist getting a Diezel. First I realized the sound on its own that reminded me of some of my favorite guitar sounds from diverse records, then, of course I saw that Tool's AJ uses the VH4, then I heard about Korn, then I saw Metallica's JH with his VH4, then I saw even NIN's TR has one in the studio, I heard and found about about this and that incl. SP and came to the conclusion that about all of my favourite bands and artists use Diezel amps (And now I guess all the others would even improve on getting one for themselves) what a revelation that was! so thanks to the genius minds at Diezel for these divine machines. I'm glad now I have my VH4s for myself. Now I'm ready to die. :m17: Everyday I play it I think "Today is the greatest day I've ever known..."

yep, all the above and my fav Matt Bellamy from Muse, that sealed it
