Here's my latest Fed Ex encounter. You can see from the boot prints on the guitar box someone stood on it. The box edge between the prints gave way. There were a couple other boot prints on the box. The result is probably a snapped headstock on a brand new custom guitar.

Yesterday was supposed to be an awesome guitar day

There seems like there is a lot of finish chipping behind first fret on a brand new custom guitar? I see the crack but the finish wear/chipping besides that looks like something that has been there a while and would be play wear related.

There is no way that finish work is a result of someone stepping on a box. I mean look at the state of the rest of the finish work.

That honestly may have just been somebody using their foot to nudge or position the box. If they stood on it, it would’ve been crushed.

I feel for your loss tho.. Delivery guys don't give a fuck and can't blame them. Everyday a perpetual number of shit to deliver daily.. Sellers are shit with no guilt or integrity.. The selfie generation..

Reminds me of the time they delivered my old Mackie Mixer.. Tractor trailer pulls up, rolls up the trailer door and my Mixer is flat on the trailer floor with a big box on top of it.. What does the shipping box say???

The chips had been cleaned out of the case when I took the pic. You can actually see a little one in the foreground in the case. The pic was taken long after I had taken the guitar out and removed (well, most of it) the detritus.

Trust me, it was damaged in the case

An Impact could absolutely cause that. Physics can be fascinating with how force can affect items and materials thought to be in concert.

I appreciate the laws of physics greatly, however "fascinated" wasn't bouncing around in my head when I discovered this.

FedEx manages to hire barbarians and troglodytes. These dudes compete against one another yo see who can do the most damage and them have a good laugh about who destroyed the largest amount of high end goods that day.

A high school classmate recently took a job with FedEx after 20 years with UPS and said the cavemen who deliver for FedEx are world class LORDS OF DESTRUCTION. He said there is talk of a, “ship at your own risk,” policy due to the massive losses from damaged goods. They are instructed to deny claims at all costs unless it’s gross negligence.

SONS OF BITCHES!!! There is nothing worse than receiving a broken guitar or amp that you were wildly excited about receiving.

I've seen some video's of UPS and FedEx drivers getting out of the truck and just heaving the package toward the front door and hoping for the best . Sometimes they just toss it over a fence and mark "Delivered" .

I got real lucky on the Gretsch. One of the small pins was bent that the floating bridge use to anchor to and line up on the body, but the rest was just putting it back together. Totally guessed on the bridge height and it actually set up pretty well. Unfortunately the top got slightly marred but nothing catastrophic.
