Well I've out grown my pedaltrain PT-2. I just bought a Pedaltrain Pro and now I'm thinking of getting a switcher to eliminate some tap dancing. I have no clue on what to look for or what not to look for, just need some good advice before buying. I like single row buttons from what I've seen on some boards

I'm hoping to keep cost in the $100-$200 range if thats possible

Thanks

Moen GEC8 or GEC9 are affordable and have great reviews for the most part.

Do you have the 100 or 50 watter? To change channels with just a pedal switcher/looper like the ones listed above, your amp needs to be controllable via midi.

(the 50 watt head does have midi in)

I use a Joyo PXL Pro. It's cheap and gets the job done. $180 on Amazon.

I have the 100w

Couldn't I just make a custom cable? I see some switchers have triggers

This one has triggers to switch amp channels as well https://www.ebay.com/itm/JOYO-PXL-PRO-PR ... 1121101958

If I make a cable think this would work?

Depends on the rest of your rig tbh and your definition of simple. I got a voodoo labs pedal switcher as part of my rig is midi and my ground control switches and programs the pedal switcher and all the midi stuff (and a gcx if I add one to my rack later). So stupid simple to use from that respect, and no other contest, but if you have nothing midi and no ground control or other voodoo lab switcher things then it's probably near the bottom if the list as it's otherwise just 4 true bypass loops and my pedals are TB anyway. I found some interesting shoot-outs on the web while looking though.
