I really like the rivera love shown in this thread :)

Another vote for rivera, though I expect my ceriatones to outlive me.

Inverse approach: From the list above I trust mid 80's to 90's Marshalls and Fenders least.

Knew a guy that rolled his truck with his 5150 head inside. Totalled the truck. The head was banged up, but fired up without a hitch. Peavey gets
my vote fo sho.

Been using mesa boogies since 91. Never had one fail yet. Finished a gig on one tube on one of my .50 cal+'s once, never knew it till my drummer told me " you're amp got real bright and started smoking", that's when I noticed one of my power tubes was black!

I love my VHT, built like a tank, but the most indestructible might be Peavey. I've beat my Ultra like no one should treat an amp and it just won't die.

Really surprised at the Peavey love. The 5150's I've been around seem like toys compared to a Mesa.

Not a fanboy of either brand, just my perception of build quality respective to each brand.

That guy is a jerk. How could he abuse such a wonderful creation from the hands of Reinhold. Plus it must be fake. you can tell by how easy he picks it up and the sound when it hits the ground.. Boy would I love to curb stomp him... :gethim:

Had a brand new Mesa Simulclass 290 Power amp that failed at least twice. I have to vote Soldano. Been playing them since 1999 with never a problem.. Astroverb, Atomic 16, Decatone, x88, GTO and numerous SLO's. all have been trouble free..

I voted for Mesa.
I once had a leak spring in a building I used to rehearse in right over my Old 3 ch dual recto. Must've leaked on it for a few days.

Took the chassis out to set it to dry for a few days and look around to be on the safe side and no water damage. Replaced the tubes and it fired right up

That's funny, the Mesa gear has a relative medium to low reputation about the (internal) build quality in Europe. Maybe we're not lucky, maybe it's a 220v thing, I don't know.

The fact they have a high price tag here doesn't help, for sure, people complain faster.

After more thought I have to give props to Soldano and Marshall as well. I've been playing them forever (don't have the Soldanos anymore) and have NEVER had one fail me. I've had old Marshalls (mid 70's models pushing 35-40 years old) that just keep going and going.

I would have picked fender or Marshall if it was pre 80's. I have dropped my jmp from 15 feet up off the back of a cargo van and still used it for hrs that night. Even the newer ri series from Marshall with the superleads and 2203 are great. Old blackface or silver face fenders are bulletproof also, I have an all original 68 baseman still going strong. However, Later Marshall's like my dsl and jtm30 broke on the regular.

Single channel marshalls. They have passed the test of time and any tech or hobbyist tech can fix one.

Wizard amps are freakin tanks...I would put them in the top...just my two cents

I voted for Marshall. I had a 100 watt '81 JCM800, and someone knocked it off my 4x12 onto a concrete stage while I was in the middle of a song, and it just kept going! That's the most abuse I've personally put an amp through. I will give Mesa props for durability as well. I used a Simul-class 295 for many years, and never had an issue with it.

I have multiple Marshalls that are 30+ years old, some modded to hell and back that just keep working....
Just sayin' :D
