Been browsing this forum for a minute and this is my first real post -

Does anyone know if Motor City Pickups is still in business? I've sent 3 different emails and a Facebook message, all with no response. At this point my questions are pretty much answered, and i'm ready to order a pickup, but.... I don't know how smart a move it is just to go ahead and purchase something from him. I've heard things about his lack of communication and longish wait times, but really i'd just like anything acknowledging he's not dead and still in the business. I don't mind ordering and waiting a bit.

Any insight (or direct contact info) you have to share would be much appreciated. Thanks.

the last time, I contacted Wade was over on Facebook too. It also took him a long long time to get back to me.

I was dealing with Wade over the summer. I never had any problems with comunications. Good guy

I emailed thru his site got back to me twice. Ordered 2 pairs never a problem for me.

Yes I can get in touch with him, I will tell him to get back with you right away.

Ordered some pickups about 6 weeks ago. Week 1 - Order placed + regular comms. Week 2 - pickups made. Week 3 - pickups received.
No problems with me. Keep in mind he is a 1 man band & does almost everything himself.
You said you've sent 3 emails - over what time period??

Week 1 - Email sent through site.

Week 2 - 2nd email sent through site.

Week 2 - Facebook message sent (to see if perhaps the website email form was broken)

Week 5 - 3rd email sent through site.

Obviously something is wrong here....

Hey Brent, i got your message via my email, though for some reason no private message shows up here on RT.... strange. Feel free to contact me directly - my username + at gmail.com

Personally I would never send anybody my money that can't a return an email.

Just out of curiosity...what pickups are you getting? Thinking about some Detroiters for my Stripper.

"Friends, family, customers..
I will be closing Motor City Pickups This Week On Friday 5pm. I will reopen on Saturday evening Jan 24th.
I'm very grateful for the orders, that have exceeded this holiday season above all others. Tremendous thank yous to everyone. I need this extra time to catch up and build pickups and get taxes and things together. My normal lead time is 3-4 weeks respectively, and have been exceeding that. It only makes sense to control and catch up.
During this time, ordering will halt, and I will accept e-mails only from existing orders- Get the orders out..Makes sense to me.
If you have sent in an e-mail with no response, I have failure notices so some have not put their emails in correctly- Ive spoken with my Internet designer- We are on it.IF I MISSED YOUR E-MAIL, SEND IT AGAIN- DON'T BITCH ABOUT IT, SEND IT AGAIN. I will be doing nothing but e-mails till 4pm today. All e-mails are cleared, for today only.
This Account is for pictures, fans, friends and customers of Motor City Pickups. I DO NOT CHECK FACEBOOK REGULARLY. I do not conduct business through Facebook, that is what motorcitypickups.com is for- ALL EMAILS OF BUSINESS should go directly through motorcitypickups.com. I absolutely have no problem answering e-mails when I sign in- That is exactly what I am doing now. These emails were 3 weeks ago. Anything business related, please go through the official site www.motorcitypickups.com
Wade- MCP Pres."

I have ordered three pickups from Wade. Two of them had a pretty quick turn around time, but the last one took longer than expected. At the end of the day I think his pickups are worth the wait. Wade is a one man show, and he builds some amazing pickups.
