Just thought I would mention that I have had a Motor City Detroiter in the bridge of my '76 Les Paul Custom for 3 weeks now and the honeymoon is nowhere near over. I can't stop playing my guitar. This is hands down THE BEST bridge pickup I have had. I have tried Duncans, Dimarzios, EMGS, BK's, Rio Grandes, and this smokes them all. It was exactly what I was looking for. It is the perfect blend of the vintage breath, chime, and tone mixed with modern tight low end. While this is not a "modern pickup" or high output, I dare you to try to hit it with enough gain to make the low end flabby. The low end leans more towards a low/ low mid thing... breathy but tight at the same time. My guitar breathes through my JCM800. The mids are excellent and the highs are perfect, chimy and articulate. The clarity of this pickup is what kills me the most. The note definition this pickup cannot be believed until heard. Gained dimed on my 800 with a maxon 808 in the front and every note in any chord played is crystal clear. This pup just has something about it. After talking with Wade for about 25 minutes about our guitar setups, some interesting facts he shared about 70 LP's, how he will put individual orders ahead of larger store bulk orders, and playing what he has to offer... I can't see myself looking any further than MCP for pickups from now on. Great guy, great service, great pickup. I know I went on way too long, but I am excited and Wade Westbrook deserves the credit and maybe this will help someone that is stuck in the same limbo.

yup they are very addictive. Then you start getting more and more.

Yeah tell me about it, started with the Afwayu, then the 2nd degree and now the Detroiter! Damn Wade.  Motor City stuff is great.

Then you need more guitars for all the pickups. There is a new one I just tried that is really cool. No name yet.

Thank you guys!! You guys are awesome!! Lots of new things on the horizon including a revamping of the website and descriptions- A bit more detailed. Again, thanks. Very honored.
Peace, Wade

I just send my Metro 50w plexi to Dave this week. Could you guys give me some suggestions what a good pickup would be for Dave's mods and Mahogany/maple top guitars. Mainly PRS and Suhr guitars

Well, depends on your mods, but I'd put money on it that it will be voiced with the Second Degrees blackbelts and ofcoarse always always ask Dave. I'd vote 2nd degrees, or the Detroiters

Wade, how would you describe these. I have heard a few people say they love them and I kept seaching the site for Blisterbuckers which werent there. What's the scoop with that pick up compared to the 2nd degree for example.

Yeah I'm all out of guitars now...time for a new one to accomodate this nameless one.

NAsty and hotter. Chewy and clear...LOL..The second degree is made to really let the amp do the work and feed it the proper frequencys from gun ho. BI's hit the amp harder and are a touch easier to play on. More forgiving. The sacrifice of the gain in the 2nd degree make you work harder for the note, but the tone is raw.....
The BLISSTER was never there on the site. I never sold a BLISter per say, it was actually the AD with a A2 magnet. The BI's directly revolve around a A2 magnet and are designed around it.

I have both 2nd degree blackbelts in a prs custom 22 and a custom alnico 4 detroiter set in a prs mccarty. To make a long story short those are now my 2 go to guitars. They both do single coil and humbucker great! The second degree is really open and articulate where the detroiter has super tight lowend and mids and hits you in the gut like no other yet is extremely clear. Between those two guitars alone I can get about any sound I want.

Yes motor city pickups are an addiction I have more sets of mcp's than I currently have guitars! BTW I love every set!

anyone have clips? i haven't been able to find much online

Mics are in place, just waiting on the amp. Should be here next week. I'm planning on using the Friedman and a Metropolous for all the clips.

+1 on the clips and like the choice of amps, looking forward to hearing these.

When I get some funds saved backup I will be in contact about picking up some of these up!

Also it's cool that Motor City pickups is local for me.

You ever let people stop by the shop?

I completely understand I had the flu about a month ago and it took forever to get over. Get well!

I recently went through several different MCP's, a Black Iron, Solution, etc...only to end up back where i started.
The WARCRY. I popped it in my Silverbust LPC, and also at the same time, got a BK Painkiller, put that in my Wine Red Standard.

The Painkiller has quicker added distortion to it...very weird. Like I'm running a boost in front of the amp, kind of distortion. but it somewhat reminds me of a slightly looser, less bold Warcry.

the Warcry simply crushes, is so clear and articulate, so bold, and tight...In My Guitar....

In fact, I ordered 2 more...I'm hoping to get 2 more anyways...there is no more wire for them, and I should be getting what could be the last 2 of them, specially made just the way I want them...even more bold and aggressive than they already are.

Wade's stuff is very good, and stands out for the other brands out there.
It's one of those things that just helps us get closer to the sounds (not voices) in our heads...
I still remember recently when I first heard a Warcry, I was like...that's it! that's what I want!!

Very very cool stuff.

Motor City = Great stuff + very good customer support (Wade)!!!
Cheers,
Oz

I had the same "thats it " response whe I tried my now discontinued helll baby pickups. I wish I could still get them.

Hey wade have any he'll baby like projects going on?
