Ordered a neck from Musikraft a couple of months ago. UPS managed to damage the shit out of it, a few major dents and hairline crack in the headstock.
It was late Friday afternoon- I emailed them and they responded Saturday morning. Sent them some pics and Jim asked me to send the neck back to them and told me he'd handle it as dealing with UPS is a PITA.
They emailed me as soon as they got the neck and asked if I wanted my money back or a replacement. The neck that was damaged was really nice, first one I've ordered from them, so I asked for a replacement.
They said fine and expedited the production on the neck and I got it in less than a month - roasted and all!

Not surprising. They do great work and are good people.

How do you guys get a hold of them via phone?

I'e been trying to phone them for several days but always get a recorded msg.

They goofed on my last order and my opinion of them is pending when I get this replacement neck..

Can you elaborate?

I've been a die hard Warmoth guy for ages, but have to go with Musikraft this time since I want to build a Kramer & Warmoth doesn't make those parts.

I've always been very happy with Warmoth but have no idea what to expect from Musikraft.

So far I can't reach them & they don't return phone calls, so I don't know what to think.

The few times I've emailed they've been very quick to respond.

They kick ass...I have 8 of their necks, most of them I ordered directly with Jim. One of my orders had an accident where a small piece of the headstock broke off right along the wood grain towards the ball end of a strat headstock. Jim contacted me and let me know about it and said he'd build me another one or he could fix it and give me a $100 credit. I took the neck and credit and you can't tell it was repaired.

They were always easy to deal with and always accurate on delivery times. So when they tell me it will be 4-6 weeks I usually got at 3.5 weeks ;)

Long story short - ordered a franky neck a few years ago for my franky replica and I love that neck. This year I planned to order a top of the line franky neck, 5A fingerboard, 5A neck wood, SS frets, roasted option, etc ($600+ neck)

First neck they sent me had multiple issues... sent me a neck with a square fingerboard heel (I'm guessing they sent me a charvel model by accident, wtf??!), rear mounted floyd nut screw holes werent bored far enough, wood on the back of the neck was gorgeous but fingerboard wood was not consistent AT ALL, extra wood @ headstock near nut, uneven application of the aged oil finish on the headstock (blotchy), and other little things.

Yes, very hard to get ahold of on the phone. Even after I received the neck, and sent them fully documented photos in an email explaining why I was pissed, requesting them to contact me via phone, they never did. Not once. And every email took 1day+ to respond. All they did was say send us back the neck, here is a shipping label. They would not even acknowledge anything wrong until they saw it in person. No discount offered either.. They basically gave me a credit and said I could place the order again. (really long story but when I placed the order again I added the roasted option ontop of the original order this time)

So as I said, I love the old franky neck I purchased from them. So far not very happy with this next purchase. Pending the condition the neck arrives at my place in the next coming weeks will decide my opinion of them. I realize every once in a while something slips thru the cracks. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and letting them make up for it. Time will tell.

However, if on the other hand the next neck has just as many issues, I will post all of my photos of how they screwed up the first neck was that they sent me. It was really not acceptable for how expensive of a neck it was IMO.

I suggest musikraft necks to so many people over warmoth over the years, and I'm going to be VERY disappointed if they botch up this order again.

Wow, that's no cool at all. Not only was that mistake totally unnecessary, but to not all you back is unprofessional.

I've been dealing with Warmoth for years & have over a dozen Warmoth builds & the quality has always been exceptional & their customer service has been top notch.

I want to build a Kramer so this time I am forced to go with Musikraft, but they just don't call back. I have too many questions as a 1st time customer & need to speak to someone, but all of my calls have been ignored so far.

I gotta admit, I was less than impressed with the way the neck was packed, but, they fixed it to my satisfaction. Hope you're not disappointed a second time Six.
