Mustaine sig. Marshall

I'm a sucker for shit like this. I've got the ZW stack, which is a great little practice amp and the KK one, which sucks. I have always dug Mustaine's playing and wouldn't buy it becuase it's got his name on it, but would consider it if the price was right and the tones were there.

My 2 cents pertaining to endorsements...

At some time in all of our guitar playing WE ALL are guilty of standing in front of a cranked stereo dreaming we (insert guitar God here). Some guys stick with what they endorse/play (Vai and Ibanez), have the revolving door of endorsements (Scott Ian, Dimebag), or the non-musical (Mustaines Coffee, Korns Adidas, Willie Nelson and Biodiesel).
We dream of strats and Jimi, Les Pauls and Jimmy, Ibanez Jems and Vai, SG's and Iommi, etc etc.

My position is so what? Guitars have been endorsed and sold on image since long before the Beatles.

The fact is if a company came and offered each one of us a signature guitar or amp, we all would jump on it. If dave wants to make a practice amp that kids who can't fork out $2,000 for a real Marshall are going to buy so what? As for me, I'm still waiting on my Subclavian edition TSL100 reissue to come out

At least he's not as bad as Joe Perry. :dunno:

Mustaine's more worthy of countless stupid sig models than Wylde, Dimefag, or other dorks who have 10000000 sig models

i agree - stupid amp

best endorsement ever

You get to a certain point in life when you suddenly realize it really IS all about the money.

Saw Joe back in 85 on the Done with Mirror's tour........

Shame to see him peddling hot sauce.....

HAHAHAHA   I can see an action figure that looks like Dave and Ken doll coming
with this.

The Dave hate is strong here.

I know he is an easy target because he he opens his mouth and stupid shit comes out. Even me, a DM fanboy, knows that. The things he says make me facepalm damn near every time.

That being said, I'm not sure why he (or anyone else in a comparable position as he is) is being ripped on so badly for having endorsements. He has had an almost 30 year career playing metal (ok, except for Risk :bleh: ) and is pretty much agreed on by everyone as a founding father of thrash metal. On top of that, he is a killer guitarist/songwriter and has kickass tone to boot. If I were a company he would definitely be worthy of endorsing my product.

The Megastack, in the video that I saw of Dave talking about it, is for backstage warming up and for the tour bus, so I wouldn't take this amp seriously as some sort of badass tone machine. :D I think that is pretty obvious.

I don't think artists do endorsements for money. They aren't very lucrative for the most part. Guys like Dave and a million others do it for the prestige of having their name on gear that sounds good and is in the public eye. I work with a guy on tour that has lots of endorsements and he isn't getting rich from them.
