I recently picked up a 1971 Marshall B cab. The tolex was stripped off but it has the original speakers. Unfortunately it has a very strong musty smell. I put a box of baking soda inside of it but it is still too smelly to put in the house. Has anyone had luck de-stinking an old cab? I am not sure what else I can do.

Thanks!

put it in the sun with the back off it.

Yup! agree 100%! If you can see my V2 cab in my avatar, I had to do that exact thing because a water line broke and it got soaked. I need to do it again when it gets warmer 'cause I didn't get all the funk out.

Someone else mentioned wiping it with vinegar, that seemed to help. I'd like to try the sun but I live in WI, land of grey.........

pour a 40 oz. Old English in it.

Somehow I do not see my wife like the Old English much more than the musty smell. :D

Dose it with Frabreeze. Leave it outside for a few days.
