Anyone use one? How does it compare to a Maxon 808 or OD9? I've watched some of Gearmandude's videos and the MXR sounds really good.

Never heard one before, man you are just dying to try anything that increases the line level into an amp

Maybe Danyeo can get a guitar made with 2 stacked volume knobs.

I recently posted a topic about this pedal, and got some really good answers. As a result, I bought one last weekend.

So far, it's probably the best od pedal I've used. It's warm sounding, with some fat sounding mids. There isn't a upper mid hump like TS type pedals typically have.
It is very rich harmonically and adds VERY little noise to your signal. I've since shelved my V1 Dano TOD and Drive pedals because the GT-OD is much tighter, warmer, and has way less noise.
I use it to boost my HT-5 gain channel. (HT-5 gain at 50%, GT-OD level max, gain zero/1, tone at 80%) I don't know why it's called GT-OD, but it makes my HT-5' gain channel sound like a roaring, rumbling American muscle car.

i've tried tons and tons of OD pedals from loads of companies, big name companies, small companies, modded ones, boutique ones and even built quite a few myself. that said, the GT-OD lives on my board and is going NOWHERE! i use it to shape my high gain sound with the output around 1 o'clock, the gain on 7 or 8 o'clock and the tone varies a bit depending on the guitar from 11 to 1 o'clock or so. it works great for shaping a high gain tone in this way.

More gain is good gain. :D

One of the better OD pedals out there regardless of price imo.

Had one when it first came out, honestly, I thought it sounded better into a modeler than a tube amp but YMMV IMO. Those cheaper $99.00 and under MXR pedals definitely have tone suck in all of them as well but YMMV IMO as well.

Are you using that handwired Tube Screamer that came out? I think it's the one that cost about $350. I honestly wasn't very impressed with that one.

I had one for a few months. I used it as a mid gain pedal. As D-rock mentioned, it was harmonically rich and warm.
