Sure is pretty sweet with the abalone bird inlays....but whoever did the wiring on this guitar is crap lol
I haven't taken the strings off to pull the pickups and verify yet, but they're supposed to be a Duncan 78 and Lollar Imperial. They put CTS coil tap pots in here and the wiring is crap. Apparently I've been doing it wrong all this time using solder and heat shrink. I was SUPPOSED to be using wire nuts and electrical tape
If I paid God knows how much for this guitar (new or used), plus paid Sims Custom Shop to refinish it, AND put pricey pickups in it, I think I would've farmed the electronics out if I wasn't confident I had good soldering skills. Even some of the solders on the switch look like crap. I guess after I jam on it for a bit I'll tear it apart to restring it, verify the pickups, and redo the electronics so they're presentable. At least the finish looks hella nice
