Still going strong. only cost me a set of wheels and a few spider guards.

Got a 2" black Angus steak going now.
Ill post that in the food section later with all the trimmings

I throw some charcoal in there for flavor

I don't use gas grills (outside of the Blackstone), but that is a great idea. I love all of my Weber products. I have 5 charcoal pits now. 2 - 18" and 3 - 23". My oldest is an 18" that my brother gave me a long time ago when he upgraded to a 23". I cut the legs off to make it more portable. Sometimes I'll take it down to the river and cook or use it of a portable small wood firepit.

Well i think its kind of dangerous on my end to add charcoal.
Once the coals are grey and its up to about 400 to 425 steady I shut the main gas valve in the basement

Then just use it like a regular BBQ

I'm on year 12 of my Genesis. I've replaced a few things but it's trucks along just fine.

I have one of those gay little Weber Q things. It fucking sucks. I need a new one. A real grill. Charcoal is so nice but a bit of a pain.

That spread that you made for 2025 St Louis ampfest was impressive. I had forgotten how good real charcoal grilled food tasted!:2thumbsup:

People with Weber's are rich.

Well, I'm not rich. A base 23" Weber is not all that expensive to begin with. I do take care of my equipment though and the Blackstone was not cheap.

Ah thanks man. It was my pleasure and had fun doing it. Let's start planning a 2026 fest.

Thanks but $149 is firmly in rich guy territory. You are rich compared to me. :poke::LOL:

What if it was your sole source for cooking - like when I'm at my cabin?
Then it's a cheap stove for poor people like us.

TBH my "grill" is some cast iron grill top sections I requisitioned from some trashed smoker that was left on my property when I bought it. That and some old landscaping pavers and I had me a grill-smoker that only cost me just a bit over 100k. The land was included in the deal though.

PS: You live a rich life and you can't put a price on that :dunno:
I'm definitely rich in friends, here and elsewhere.

Agreed.

And I saw your smoker last week I think when you posted it. Good stuff. I love home grown stuff like that.

It works pretty good I just need to figure out something with more rack space this year. Like, a lot more rack space. I'm just not sure what to do at this stage yet. I have more grille racks but can't fit them in there and if I build a larger smoker I don't want it to look like a POS, lol. That was just a quick and dirty one that ultimately cooked a lotta briskets.

I used to have a Lil' Weber. About two years ago I dumped my then girlfriend and she went psycho. Came over when I wasn't home, trashed my grill, picnic table, bird bath, and knocked over several sheets of plywood i had leaning against my garage.

She was a real fire plug, that one.

Maxwell House and Camel Non-Filter supplies were clearly safely stored behind lock and key.

I left a large canister of Maxwell House Breakfast Blend at her apartment that we would drink on Sunday mornings. She asked if I wanted it back, and I told her to shove it up her ass.

I would've told her I wanted every ground of that breakfast blend back. That stuff is the equivalent value of gold dust AFAIC.
